So who among the mods will attend LTX 2018?

I just want to say this. I do NOT want to be a moderator. So stop sending me PM's about it!

Now let me point out the reasons why I cannot moderate.

  • I already moderate for Intel and a few Enthusiast sites
  • I would like to be able to troll people once every bluemoon (good beer)
  • It would cost Linus too much and I want to see his site grow not go bankrupt
  • My coworkers tend to sexually harass me and I don't want to see the other moderators get fired
  • I am just too darn attractive for my own good. I would hate to be forced in to making videos with Linus and then inadvertently stealing the spotlight.
  • I am a very modest and humble person

Any further denial of my superior good looks might result in me breaking my anonymity. I am just not sure the backbone of the web can withstand the traffic that a single picture of me on this site will generate.

My looks are so great even Chuck Norris himself bows his head in acknowledgement

Will it be against the CS to make a thread on ways how to circumvent government imposed censorship like what programs to use or what ports to use like TCP port 443?

Well considering Linus already heavily advertises a VPN, which lists "Unblock Censorship Filters" as a primary feature, surely its fine...

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Well VPN is just one way to get around censorship. I was thinking of something like Tor, I2P, Freenet, Psiphon, SSTP on TCP Port 443 (Windows only), etc, the mods might consider it a CS violation since it’s a how to thread on circumventing legally imposed restrictions which is like a new member asking how can I access Facebook using school wifi?

Talking about piracy in general, broad details, is acceptable however the posting or discussing pirated/hacked/cracked or otherwise nefariously obtained content is not. This includes Windows content, games, hackintosh, etc. Also discussions regarding ways to avoid or block legitimately installed monitoring/tracking software or the like is also not allowed

Falls under this rule.

Rule

Would a thread about sleep be against the rules? as that might count as "Medical" which seems to be frowned upon.

†

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.

Cry havoc and let slip the Togs of war.  (Signature V3)

Depends.

It might just be status update material, it might be a medical problem in which case we'll lock a thread if it gets too out of hand(troll answers, etc). But overall, we as a community tend to recommend actually seeing a doctor.

We're a bunch of nerds, even WebMD can't compare to us, but a doctor would be the best choice.

It would be more of a question, how much sleep does each person need to get to not feel sleepy all day etc.

As I've said once when someone posted a thread about sleep, if something bad happens to the said member by following advice from a tech forum, the forum's owners and its members will not be liable to any bad thing that might happen. Sleep disorders require medical intervention by a board certified doctor especially if typical home remedies doesn't work.

Though there are few threads about acne in Off Topic.

Depends on the person, and how quickly they adjust.

I got 6 hours on a school night(definitely do not recommend, I cannot assume liability for any effects) but got used to that.

I completely agree with @captain_to_fire

I completely understand not wanting liability but seriously, if someone tells me to try 1 hour of sleep and I try it it's my fault for being an idiot and listening to someone on the Internet.

That was kind of the point, I'm curious how much sleep others consider "normal" and are fine with.

Depends on age, babies and teenagers tend to need 10+.

Most people(don't quote me on this, I'm guessing) say 8-10 is the "official norm".

"Babies and teenagers" that's a lot funnier the it's supposed to be. I know "the official norm." But I'm curious what the "practical norm" is.
