I have yet to see in the media about how bitcoin will lead to more surveillance, regulation and monitoring of the internet.   If you have a way to funnel funds inside a country without the countries oversight, you effectively control the country.  Lots of opportunities for bribes, extortion, contraband, human trafficking, and other illegal activities.   China, as technology advances, is increasingly tightening it's control on it's internet.  USA 9/11 and unauthorized/oath breaking disclosures give an insight in to what is possible.  Right now, there are several authoritarian social moves in the US taking place.  The mass media is even caught up in it.  ...  Fixes must be above board, easily sustainable, realistic  minimal, non-oppressive, constructive and fair to really be fixes.

depends. It is not illegal to have child porn on your pc per se. It is illegal having child porn on your PC and knowing about it.  That is a difference

I didn't find the original article, but this website discusses a possible defense. They argue with the knowledge of child porn:

The defense is the same as the one where say your roommate takes your car without permission and does something like a hit-and-run and your car was identified. You can be exonerated if you can prove you didn't drive the car and there is a reasonable case that you didn't know your roommate took the car (I'm not sure if the charges are any worse if you gave permission beforehand but I guess it's circumstantial like if your roommate's car was in the shop and they needed a car for something)

It's pretty annoying to see something that's potentially interesting, except for no original poster development or summary of the article in question and instead literally copy-pasting said article's title and linking it in the post.

You're assuming guilty until proven innocent. The plaintiff has to prove you obtained it willingly.

At the end of the day, intent is a major component in how crimes are judged. If I had a child porn image embedded inside my profile picture then do you think a judge would sentence this entire forum for possession of child porn? Of course not, because that would be absurd.

Not in the case of child porn on a computer, its like finding the shooters gun under your bed.  You are in possession of illegal content which is a crime in and of itself, it's up to you to prove it was planted.

The laws are not that clear cut and according to some courts, in some circumstances it is in fact legal (such as unknowingly downloading it through for example your browser cache). The hidden images in block chains would most likely fall under the ruling that it is legal in several jurisdictions.

DPP = department of public prosecutions. 

 

My point is you can and will be charged in most cases and you'll need lots of money and a good lawyer regardless of whether you are technically breaking the law or not.
