They look OK atm. Obviously with no charge left in them after so long, they will need changing.

I've believe they could be soldered on, so I'll take a chance that they'll not leak within the next few weeks.

they cannot be charged

Bought this system back in 2010. The motherboard and harddisk died so i had to to change them. But this thing runs on win7 perfectly still today and i use it rarely to play games from 5 years ago like fifa 15, nfs the run, COD MW3 etc....just to remember how those days were. I've got a 9th gen core i5 pc as my main rig but i decided to keep that old friend.

specs:

- core 2 duo E8400

- 2+2 GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM from Team

- Esonic G41 mobo (Bought after the Asus G41 mobo died)

- Gigabyte Radeon HD 6670 graphics card

- Valuetop 450 watt psu (overkill !)

- 120 GB 2.5 inch SSD (bought after the HDD died)

- A DVD rom that still works!

There's also a fully working Samsung 18.5 inch monitor of 1366x768 resolution connected to it.

Was cleaning out some drawers and happened upon my old Core i7-920 that originally came in a $2k Alienware system that I bought through my employer's computer loan program over a decade ago. Also some EDO SIMMs. Not too old, but somewhat nostalgic. Think it'll run Crysis?

I wouldn't call this retro but I have a mix of parts that i've collected over the years. Really the only thing i have to be proud of lol as I have all of them and they all still work (except the GTX 660 bottom right gpu on the floor, it reads as PCI-E 1x for some reason).photo_2020-07-07_03-13-14.thumb.jpg.bfa083536bd0e3bbe3b23fc3a11cf76d.jpg

Quote me or @TwilightRavens if you want me to see your reply. I may go inactive for a long time from time to time because I forget how to socialize, but I will be back... eventually.

This is the case I built my computer out of. It is a server case, with a Supermicro X8SAX (seen on the floor) This was a board that had a 2009 BIOS, and would be a few generations behind. I still use the power supply, though I need a new one for my new Vega card. The server had a Xeon E3500 in it.

my model M122. coolest looking IBM ever made IMO

s-l1600 (2).jpg

It was a wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become

Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh, who would ever want to be king?

Around this time, Intel made a series of bugged pentium processors that would calculate the wrong numbers. A software fix was built into windows 95 and 98 to correct for this. I don't know if this is one of those processors, but I do know that this piece of tech is over 25 years old now.

Found this under a load of crusty thermal paste.

IMG_20200627_001120.thumb.jpg.02b2bf2550c6efbab9cc628e49d340df.jpg

Put back reapplied paste, changed the unusual size cmos battery. My Ast fired up into Windows 95,after a little tinkering in the bios.
