Hey Guys, Just started Folding Yesterday to try and do my bit as its an amazing idea.

Just wondering what the average folding numbers are and what they actually mean. This is mine so far.

3 Rigs

1st rig (7 days of run time) i7 9700k & RTX 2070 (TU106)

2nd rig (4 days of run time) R7 2700X & Radeon RX 570

3rd rig (2 days of run time) i5 4570 & GTX 770 SC

The AC bill is the killer (here in warmer weathers), but the gas offset is nice. Not all bad on the utilities.

Regarding a twitter post with an interview:  If you've been wondering why there's no shortage of CPU jobs vs GPU ones it's partially because small molecule simulations for interacting and binding with the viral proteins can largely only be done on CPU due to algorithm availability in their under-the-hood software. Just heard they're screening over 50,000 of those compounds too!  Wow!

If you install the new version does it carry over all your setting or do you have to set it all up again. ie - can I just pause the current version, quit F@H, install the new version and carry on or do I have to finish all the current WUs, quit F@H, install new version and setup it up again ?

I just paused my jobs, installed it, and was up and running within 60 seconds no change except new options.

I don't think there is a ARM version so gonna look at SBCs using x86 chips.

@j1philli The charging circuit is dead on that laptop, its an old Samsung ultrabook...

I wonder if I could just solder a PSU directly to the board at the required voltage...

Some investigation is required...

My thinking is this, the power delivery circuit is working afaik. So if I can emulate either the battery or the power that the board runs off when running direct from charger, it could work.. maybe..
