Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

The Summit is surprisingly good for a Jeep, but it's like 80% of a Range Rover. I'd personally buy a Volvo instead.

While I hated the aisin trans in my corolla... it was dead reliable.

fair enough.

the interior will still fall apart and water will leak through the third brake light seal and ruin the back seats lel

Hey all, so I’ve got a question about low oil level warnings. So my sister in all her mechanical engineering wisdom, doesnt know what a low oil level warning in a BMW looks like... calls me last night talking anout how the engine seems like its being starved of gas as she begins coasting but goes away when she begins accelerating again, and then calls me again telling me that the low oil level light has been on for like a week and a half and she had no idea what the big flashing orange thing was every time she started up the car... so now I’m wondering if I should be absolutely pissed off that she just nuked the engine in my favorite car that we own, or everything will be fine if she just tops it off after work today?

That's a great way to shorten engine life.

Depends on how old the car is. Most modern cars have a built in system that cuts ignition when the oil pressure or level gets below a certain point to prevent you from destroying an engine.

My sister did the same thing when her BF didnt put the oil filter on tight enough on her Fiat 500, and it puked all of it's oil out. The car gave a warning light, then shut itself off, saving the engine from the fires of mount doom.

Yeah, thats true. It's a 2008 BMW 535xi, so it should have some built in safety systems beyond the idiot light, but still. lol.

people should pass an exam on basic car maintenance and/or basic car knowledge before being able to get a license... at least that's how i see what should be done

and yes i know it would have many negatives ... but eh...

Boo. Evo's Ford GT review where they drove it in Norway at the Arctic Circle Raceway. Even got WEC driver Stefan Mucke to drive and it set a track record on Michelin PSC2s that were smoking at the end. Yellow car with black stripes.

Looks like it was this video but remastered in 4k.

Also just watched the Grand Tour S2E2 where Jeremy dove the new GT as well in Liquid Red. So good, and love how they left the raw audio in the car. Drives it around in race mode too from New York through Buffalo to the US side of Niagara Falls.

BMW guy here-- The red light is the low oil PRESSURE light. Like, single-digit psi of oil pressure. Also known as the "STOP F-ing DRIVING NOW" light.

The Orange light would be low oil level, but I'm not sure the newer ones have that light. My E36/46 don't. My E30 popped that light when it was a quart or more low on oil.

If it's red, the E60s pop a 'driving not possible' error message. If it's yellow, put oil in it until either the sensor is happy or the dipstick (if equipped) says you are full.

Just watched The Grand Tour S2 E2. There are few cars that, IMO, are near "perfect" in their own rights. The F40 is one, the 911 GT3 RS4.0 (when it was still full-manual trans), and the 599XX are a few that come to mind. The new Ford GT is now another I'm adding to that list. ;)
