I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

Miss my Supra. :( But I don't miss the fuel costs. :P

Unrelated to cars. It's the final day for the group stages of the Overwatch World Cup. Should be some good matches starting soon!

Sweden vs Spain is first off.

I've only owned one car, so I guess I'd still like that my dad would own the Sierra.

Ford Sierra, not some truck thing.

89 mk3 Targa 7mge. I bought it for just $800, knowing it had a blown head-gasket. Fixed the HG and drove it from about a year before the continuous running costs and fuel costs made it impractical to use as a daily driver. Sold it for $2300, lolz. ;)

well, not exactly mine. but my dad had a '98 contour se that was completely decked out with whatever was available at the time (including a single disc cd player, brand new during 1998). i miss it because it was the most luxurious car i rode in, decked out with leather and auto a/c and moonroof, and even power seats. but alas, he gave the contour to one of my uncles and he bought the protege 4 years later after buying it. i also miss my dad's 1990 prelude with 4ws and abs. but it had a fartcan, which i thought early on was cool, but not anymore obviously. but he sold it off bc he needed room for another car, which i assume was the van.

you're so lucky you had parents who were into cars. mine would overreact when i tried to do a slide in the protege one time.

lol i scared my dad a few times...

dad likes cars but he's not exactly an enthusiast. He does want to get a older 2 seat roadster of some kind (like an old Merc or if he's on a budget -- a Datsun roadster) for a nice little weekend car at some point. But as far as his daily goes, something roomy, comfortable, and with plenty of amenities and a torquey engine and he's good. lol

Funny enough, mom's actually looking into getting a fun car soon and replacing the Impala, she's been thinking maybe a M3, 370Z, STI, or Chevy SS. Really hoping she goes with either the M3 or SS because I of course really want either a STI, 350Z, or 370Z at some point and seeing one sitting in my driveway everyday would absolutely kill me

Damn. I wish my father wanted a fun car... (I mean everyone wants one of those, but then life happens)

Though I'm pretty sure he'd rather take a diesel Merc/BMW/Audi and drive around Europe in it.

Mom and my girlfriend are both encouraging me to get a project car, mom really really really wants me to get a E36, it was her dream car back in high school.

I told her that it would be super loud and low more than likely, she still encouraged me. I told her I'd end up straight piping it, showed her this video

Told her it would sound like that, she said buy it ASAP and wants it to be super loud and low.

There's still a chance when I get something it wont be a E36, maybe a S13, Camaro, or maybe even a Prelude?

why not get an e36? they're pretty cheap, parts are quite cheap for a bmw, and hell, you can find m3s for under 5 grand like this http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5838721421.html the only downside is mileage: at 378k miles. like holy shit, that's a lot of miles after 20 years.

Just depends on what I can find in good shape for around 2500 or less. Not gonna spend more on my project than I did on my daily right away

Only way I'll pick up something with more than 150K miles on the chassis is if it's got a swapped in engine with less than 120K on it
