Funnily enough.. I'd probably die in 31*C weather. 22-24*C is where its at

12*C right now...

It was 7C here in canadia when I went for my morning jog, high of 12. The area my university is in gets colder a lot sooner because it's relatively far away from any bodies of water. Had a few extreme cold warnings last year (-35C with wind chill) and this time last year it was still high 10s,so I'm expecting it to hit 0 by Halloween.

The central and western provinces get rekt a lot harder, often dipping into the - 30s earlier than the great lake areas. Record for January was - 45c

Compared to that our winters are pretty mild (Lowest staying around -25*C).

We've had it pretty easy the past 2 years, drastically less snowfall but more cold masses coming through. The worst I had it was a massive snowstorm in first year university where we got 35cm of snow in 8 hours, and the city didn't have enough equipment to clear it in time. Suffice to say, first snow day I've had since elementary school, so no complaints there.

But yeah less and less snow every year, but late winter - early fall is always a mess. Alternating cold fronts passing from the northern territories then warm fronts coming up from the states, so you'd get some rainfall and a lot of slush then it would all flash freeze.

Fun fact: my home town, Toronto, got 35 cold weather warnings (-20c and below) over the entire duration of the 2014 winter. From Jan-Feb 2015, the city had already gotten 34. Being 140km west, my university sees more or less the same conditions, maybe more on the cold side.

@MEC-777 has it worse than I do because he's further north lolol

The town Winnipeg in Canada that I visited last year has a nickname. It often goes by Winterpeg.

Goes down to -40 during winter time.

Edit: There were still mounds of plowed snow around from the winter when I was there. I visited them in June. JUNE.
