Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Okay so you're probably thinking something like this has to built in the U.S, right?...

Image result for nash metropolitan

But nope, these Nash Metropolitans were infact built by Austin of England in Longbridge.

When you have a million dollars in the bank? ?

What I’m going to do is get another car... then separate from my main car maintenance savings account I’ll make another acct just for fun car stuffs. Will set money aside monthly and once it’s filled to my liking I can use that to do racecar things eg autocross, track days, tires, fun car parts etc lol

I have an account like that, but my bank deleted it because it had no money in it for over a year.

The way I do my budget — I assign every dollar I make to /something/. Bills first, then items of need, rest is all savings accounts. So it’ll never be empty.

Any my extra money I make If it’s small I usually just divide it up amongst my savings account as a little “bonus”.

Do you do the pay yourself first strategy? Put some money aside for savings/investments/401k, instead of at the end of the month like some do.

Never heard of that strategy... tho theres plenty of ways to do things this is what i find works for me.

I don’t worry about beginning/end of month at all. Before the month starts I total up income for the entire month, then assign every dollar I make that month to something. So obviously I need to cover my bills first, and my needs (groceries etc), even fun (our aside $ every month to go eat out or go bowling with friends whatever). that all gets subtracted from the “pool” of money I will have made that month.

then whatever is leftover after that I get to save... so I have several high interest savings accounts with a purpose: car maintenance, clothes, gifts (like birthdays and Christmas and stuff), and then I have one that right now is just “General savings” that I usually put the most into depending on my savings goals. I had one for a house before I bought a house too. You just have to decide how much per month you want to put... eg if you want to spend $500 a year on clothes then you need to make sure you’re putting aside at $42 a month for that. Just all depends on what you want... and makes you realize there’s only so much money to go around so if your short on something you either need to budget less on something else or find a way to make more money lol

i also have an emergency fund in a local savings account at a local bank... so that would be for like... a/c goes out at house... or like you lose the engine in your car or whatever. It’s capped at a certain amount and just sits there for “in case you need it”. Local bank because I want to be able to just walk in a place and get it fast if I need to.

you sound like Dave Ramsey. ?

Good strategy though. Now that I'm done with school and have a reliable income I'll have a similar, albeit more simple method. My plan relies less on certain accounts though. I'm going to simply have a savings and a checking account. everything goes into the checking account, budget out expenses, spending money for the month, etc, and everything else goes into savings.

I use a bank that lets me create/close separate savings accounts so easy (like I can open an account in like less than a minute) and online... so I just use that. just takes too long (IMO) to move money in/out of it but I think it's the best I can do for now

new supra reviews are out!  @chaozbandit beat you to it! :P

Oddly enough I really liked Rob Dahm's review as he showed the part where the engineer talked about the moddability of the car (skip to 4:18)

Those fake air vents? they actually aren't fake... they are just covered and intended to be used for modding. Some of the cooling vents in the front are temporarily closed off, you can open them up if you mod and need more cooling. there's room for oil cooler, trans cooler, etc.

Very smartly designed. Too expensive tho lol

F for the focus. Did not deserve to go out that way.

Wasn't given much choice. :(  Got hit on the driver's door by a person who failed to yield.  I replaced it with the white RS, but I'm missing my gray RS now, even though the white looks damn good.  At the time, I could have had an exact match to the old car.  But it just felt wrong because of the accident.  A reminder I didn't want. But now I miss the gray.

28k in damage, car valued at 32k at time of accident.  Equals no more Focus RS. I walked away with nothing more than a contact burn on my knee as it hit the dash and slid.

Thankfully due to a good down payment I walked away with 12k in cash.  So I was able to make good on any new car I wanted.  I considered plopping 12k down on a used Fiesta ST and having no car payment.  Probably the smart decision.  But the AWD system in the RS, sheer performance, and the accessibility of that performance is like a drug.

Every time you see someone say the RS is like a Mini-GTR, its absolutely true.  It is insane just hard you can throw the car into any corner, or how ham-fisted you can be with it.

The TransAm on the other is a bit vague yet incredibly fun because its so raw.  Its old school and analogue in everything it does.  No nannies of any kind. Its chunky and lazy down low, but when it comes on cam its just so in your face loud.

...can I... Can I clean your interior?

I know @bcredeur97 already scolded me for the floor mats :D salt does that to you up here.

Install wasnt terribly bad, worst far was figuring out how to remove the glove box (something I wish I had thought of when installing the dash cam because it makes getting at the fuse box easier) and then figuring out where good places to run rigid LED tubes through (they looked more like old style cathode tubes but had rigid PCB led systems in them, so i needed a fairly wide chamber for a pass through.) All the wires are nicely tucked under panels save for where they absolutely need to be like coming out from the control module.

Also got around to finally installing the other dashcam in my sisters car (no pics sorry). At first she wasnt super looking forward to it, but as time had gone on she's seen the value it could have in a crash for proving fault, so she was very happy when it was finally installed.

Car looks super cool. Especially the stuff Toyota left with the aftermarket in mind. But that engine is going to cause nothing but issues for Toyota techs when there are issues.

Yep. Hopefully it’s as reliable as Toyota wants us to believe
