Ultem Screwdriver

I've got the classic LTT screwdriver with a black shaft, a shorty (same), a purple one, and gifted a red one to my mother, and I really love them. Most of the releases so far have just been color differences, which is understandable, and Linus played around with a metal version, but I want to throw out the idea of making a screw driver with the case being made of Ultem. I'm not sure how feasible this is, but I'm big into EDC and have some knives and some other gear partially or fully made out of Ultem. The amber color is gorgeous, and it being semi-transparent would allow us to possibly see some of the inner mechanisms of the screwdriver. As a fan of the old Atomic Purple GameBoy Color, I have yet to out grow see-through cases for mechanical or electronic products.

 

For those who aren't familiar with the material, it's a nifty thermoplastic also known as Polyetherimide used in a lot of industries, including the aircraft industry, and is apparently popular for 3D printing beds. Below are some pictures of items made of or using Ultem so you can get an idea of how cool an Ultem screwdriver could be, assuming it's practical to produce one. These are both products I own, and I'm providing links just for those who are curious; I'm not getting any referrals through said links.

given that different colors are already a concern for producing the plastic parts (the dyes make the plastic respond slightly different), i dont think a screwdriver out of a different material will be on the table any time soon.

 

on that note, cool idea, and maybe interesting for a different product.
