Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Apparently it reduces torque at Low RPM but i don't feel a difference at all.

Just saving up for a remap, gearbox flash, dpf gutting out & egr removal and blank now

my miata had some flaps that supposedly improved torque at low rpm some.

When I swapped to the JDM engine/intake mani that didn't have those flaps, I noticed a drop off in torque below 4k rpm.

However when I got the JDM ecu working, it went back to normal... if not better.

So flaps seem pretty useless to me. lol. maybe worth a couple ft lbs but not worth the complexity/added failure points. they should stop doing that

Ohhh i read your message wrong.

Yh mine improved the low rpm torque but it wont be missed for the sake of engine rebuild and as i said i cant feel a deference anyway.

Mine were implemented to improve the emissions - probably why yours had them.

And the dealer, THE DEALER, sent valve covers for J35A6 somehow. A7 valve covers won't be here till Monday afternoon.  Nice. How does the dealer get us the wrong part number by VIN?

It was not. A7 has a bunch of extra stuff the A6 does not so unless you swap the pcm and harness too...

The new GT500 arguably has a better engine for the Ford GT, lol.

Thats weird if they ordered it by VIN. If it was a vehicle with early VCM, I think only the higher level trims were equipped with VCM. So the parts person coulda been lazy and just entered the year, model and guessed wrong on the trim.

Contrary to every ricer that calls in, we cannot look up by engine codes in the parts catalog. Need a year, model, and trim level or VIN to look up parts.

Okay, it’s story time.

So I got a message from the dealership on Thursday afternoon saying my truck was ready to go. So I go pick it up, start driving it back, and about 2/3 of the way home, the abs light comes on. 10 seconds later, the light dim and the truck starts stumbling really bad. No power at all. So I pull over, and it dies completely. No start, no crank. So I call the dealership and leave a message saying I’m stranded on the side of the road, and proceed to call my dad to come tow me home. I’m the phone with him, I decide to try starting the truck one more time, and it fired up. So then the dealership guy calls me back, and tells me to try make it home and we’ll go from there. So as soon as I hang up the phone, I put the truck in drive, and it dies again. Again, no start, no crank. Battery cables are fine, everything seems fine, but still nothing. So the dealership towed it back.

It turns out there was some loose wire in the fuse block, and they got it straightened out. I’ll go back tomorrow to pick up the truck since I got off of work too late to do it tonight.
