The question is, does information that was known by multiple people at one point, become unknown just because of their death?

this is getting deep.

I would argue that that is not a valid argument lol. If someone does not enclose information to another person, or record it in some way, and they die, how would the information carry on?

Well, technically the information existed as a pattern within the brain. That pattern was created by the individuals brain. If someone was to find that pattern in the future would it still be the original secret if the individual didn't tell anyone? Or does it become a new secret since the secret was originally held between three individuals. As it was never told to anyone else, so would it be considered recorded at that point?

This is too philosophical. My brain was not intended for thinking without definitives.

That would assume technology exists to not only reanimate the brain (assuming you beat decay, which takes over very shortly after burial), but to turn electrical and chemical signatures into processable data that can be comprehended by a person, which I don't think will ever happen (either of them). So no. Also, cremation is a thing. Have fun getting signals from a pile of ash

They have gotten weirder things from ash. We also don't know what the future holds, that's a secret of the universe. So, would it be considered wrong if technology existed to find neural patterns and extract information? Since that person wouldn't be able to deny access. Similar to recovering information from hard drives with bit by bit restructuring.

Edit: this doesn't have much to do with automotive topics lol.

I'm gonna have to go with yes. I actually watched an episode of Black Mirror that had a piece based on just that. Don't know if you've seen that show but each episode is different, but they're all based on technology that would be considered "not that far off". It's interesting. You can just kinda watch whatever episode you want, order unnecessary (it's on netflix)

The answer is neurons die and the pattern is lost.

Deep thinking leads down a deep rabbit hole. Kind of like link surfing on Wikipedia.

Hmm, I might watch it. Is it only on Netflix?  I'm old school and I don't have Netflix or anything similar.

Towing in third gear only has me going about 55 at 2k-2100 RPM. I'd prefer to be at 60+. Granted I very rarely tow heavy enough for that to matter, and 4th gear is really long as it is. Really I just wish I had a 5 speed lol (mine is a 4 speed auto).

Does your truck have the Dana 60 or 80? You could swap to 3.31 if you wanted. Heck you could go all the to 3.23 if needed. Ring and pinion swaps on the Dana's aren't to difficult either.

Honestly having a tall rear end isn't too bad as long as you don't mind losing a bit of towing ability. My 87' has the factory 2.73 rear end and I sit at 1550 at 70mph. Needless to say it get better mileage than any other vehicle I own lol.

And here I am with my tundra and 4:10s. 60mph in 4th (a340f 4spd) puts me at just over 2000 rpm at 60 mph. I plan on doing +1 tires to bring me up to 32s when I get it back from the dealer, and that’ll help.

Lol, what’s 2k rpm?

My miata has to stay above 2k rpm pretty much all the time. Nothing below that. But it’s fine, it’s designed to do that.

60mph puts me right at 3k rpm I believe. 70 is around 3.4-3.5k and 80 is right at 4K

Yeah but my v8 isn’t designed to sustain 3k it’s a low rpm, high torque motor for towing. You get fuel economy with these with taller gears.

We do understand how neural circuits work tbh, its just there is no pattern and thought happens in multiple areas of the brain, not just the cortex. When you die however, your neurones degenerate due to lack of transmission. You need a stimulus to keep neurones alive, it's why you forget stuff.

I’m not sure, I’ve just seen it on Netflix. And a neuron is an electrical signal, which does with the brain ;)
