Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

My Mustang has long tube headers, a catless H-pipe and an SLP Loudmouth II cat back, which is pretty much just 2.25" Stainless tubing with one expansion chamber on each side. It's not too bad if you drive it like a normal person, but deafening when you stand on it. I honestly wish it wasn't as over the top.

Original clutch on 300k miles? Wow. I've heard of some lasting 100k, maybe even 120-150k. But 300,000? That's just insane!

Side note, I test drove a 92 (i think) F150 with a straight 6, it had like 250K and ran like a dream. My own truck does damn well at 236k. But it's a diesel so that's kind of expected.

I have high hopes for my accord. It’s at 217k now on the original clutch and hydraulics. And I learned stick on it too!

As long as you dont beat on them, clutches in passenger cars can last an incredibly long time. So long that I dont even really consider them to be wear items anymore.

My last focus had 187k on the factory clutch and it was showing no signs of issues.

They really only become a problem if you abuse them or heavy towing.

Speaking of spending way too much money, I'm completely out of tool storage space in my current box, it's getting to be a real problem.

I was at HomeDepot last night picking up some more hardware to make sure I can get the shed pushed all the way to completion this weekend, when I saw this sexy beast:

red-with-silver-finish-husky-mobile-work

72" wide, 15 soft close drawers, and a stainless top. I know it's not the same quality of a Snap-On or MAC box, but I think for a home garage/DIY guy it would be great. Anyone have any experience with these?

Drawer detents feel too strong. Other than that, you would struggle to find a better box for that price.

Apparently the M + S on my Dayton's did not mean mud and snow.
Explains how they performed last winter.

They suck anyway. When the roads are as wet as in the picture i can light up the rears in third by just mashing the pedal down.

Doesn't happen with the winters.

For all the trucks I’ve driven/ridden in in the snow, they’ve all had all terrains and performed great. I’ve never quite seen the point to studded/studdless tires, but then again the most snow I’ve driven in is only about 6 inches. If you gotta go somewhere and there’s a foot and a half of snow on the ground... well hopefully you don’t have to go somewhere

I dunno about anyone else but in my experience it seems like if it's bad enough that winter tires are sliding I just jump to chains.

I remember in Colorado they actually had signs saying chains are required/enforced in some areas and they had places to pull off the highway to put chains on your car.

the fines were crazy too like $500-1000

was neat seeing that as of course we have nothing like that here lol

A good set of true winter snow tires means chains end up being pretty unnecessary.

All seasons are why chains exist.

Studded snow tires are the best thing for snow, if your state allows them on the roads (CO sure did, and exempts you from the chain signs and fines if you have actual snow tires).

I miss my Subaru + Studded Snows. So much fun to bomb around in fresh snow, rallying past all the stuck brodozers. Stiffer rear sway bar also made the car properly oversteer in snow even with no horsepower to speak of....that was fun until I blew up the center diff hooning a bit too much.

tl;dr snow is fun with the right tires.
