[Updated] Razer Phone to have a 120hz Screen. w/ Stream link & Product page

The Benjamins

Looks nice!!! But I would wait for reviews!

A couple of things to consider imo:

- Will it be stock android?

- Unlocked bootloader?

- Build quality? The next bit robin is bad!!

- will it have adaptive refresh rate for battery saving and performance saving reasons?

- also its lcd so how bad or good is color and depth?

- Does it have ip68, wireless charging, headphone jack with dac and expandable memory ? If your going to charge flagship prices I think these are a must!

- Does it have usb host?

Also internals look good on paper but I would wait for reviews. I can see uses with Linux containers, CAD apps, rendering apps for video/audio/picture on Mobile and emulators like for psp, gamecube and wii.

Specs: Case: NZXT H440 ] CPU: I7-5960x | CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 AIO | MOBO: ASUS Rampage V  | GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970  | RAM: Gskill Ripjaw 4 16GB 2133Mhz DDR4 kit | PSU: EVGA 1000G2 | SSD (Boot): Samsung 850pro 128GB | HDD (mass storage): WD 1TB Blue 7200RPM  | SDD (Working Drve): Samsung 850 evo 500GB | Keyboard: Logitech G510s | Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Core | Display: Asus VG248 24in. 144Hz 1ms

It could be realy cool to use in VR with a pc for some "entry" level vr using it with something like riftcat if it is 1440p 120hz, it would have a higher res and refresh rate than the vive.

If it had an unlocked bootloader, adaptive refresh, not shit build quality, and was priced closer to $750, I would jump on that if I had the money (Would probably wait a year for lower pricing and to see how far custom ROM support has come though).

i can legit see it haveing the last one here at least...

Well is it a real surprise? (if it did have thermal issues)

Many other brand's phones throttle as well so even if Razer's did, its not that big 'controversial' issue as there are plenty of other phones that have the exact same issue ;)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I don't think nextbit did so well either tho

I think that was more a problem with the concept than the device itself. The device was supposed to be very well made, and had pretty good hardware, but having apps "sleep" and storing everything on the cloud (even though their phones had 32GB of storage IIRC) ultimately didn't catch on.

Hmm, the AMD build is a more cost effective space heater. Might need to get one for the bathroom.

As for me, I’m interested but I won’t be buying it.

Razer’s track record for mobile is unproven. Sure, it’s basically a Nextbit but it’s now under the arm of Razer and selling phones isn’t just selling hardware. You’re also providing software and support is crucial.

I wish Razer good luck on this, and boy, I hope it is actually good, especially knowing that the Blade seems to be an issue magnet.

As for why we need a 120Hz display, we don’t, but it actually improves even the core UX experience in a noticeable manner. I used one of the new iPad Pros with the 120Hz panel and I could immediately notice the extra fluidity and smoothness. It does make a device feel better to use on a daily basis.

The Workhorse (AMD-powered custom desktop)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X | GPU: MSI X Trio GeForce RTX 2070S | RAM: XPG Spectrix D60G 32GB DDR4-3200 | Storage: 512GB XPG SX8200P + 2TB 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda Compute | OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro

The Portable Workstation (Apple MacBook Pro 16" 2021)

SoC: Apple M1 Max (8+2 core CPU w/ 32-core GPU) | RAM: 32GB unified LPDDR5 | Storage: 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD | OS: macOS Monterey

The Communicator (Apple iPhone 13 Pro)

SoC: Apple A15 Bionic | RAM: 6GB LPDDR4X | Storage: 128GB internal w/ NVMe controller | Display: 6.1" 2532x1170 "Super Retina XDR" OLED with VRR at up to 120Hz | OS: iOS 15.1

Hell yeah! I honestly think any android fan would! My S7 Edge is great but would love an upgrade, 32GB is not enough for me (installed emulators, CAD application, Light Room, video editor, linux containers which has a ton of linux payloads and then all the social media and music apps).

I actually almost spit out my drink when I saw '120Hz screen'.

Dolby Atmos?  God damn.  I wonder if it'll have a built in DAC like the LG V30.

I honestly don't expect a great camera, seeing as it's Razer which has very little experience with cameras of this caliber.

That's a giant battery.  I hope it's interchangeable like the Samsung phones used to be.

8GB of RAM seems a bit overkill for a phone, but hey, this is the only gaming oriented phone I've came across.

And it will most likely be tied to a low tier carrier like T-mobile lol

If they do this and price it below Samsung and Apple's flagships, they'll have a winner in my books.

Technically, every device with a speaker has a DAC.

LG just put one that delivers a serious punch

Cool feature to set it somewhat apart  since it doesnt seem to be getting from the leaks small bezels But the ipad pro dose have 120hz

I feel like this always gets put into unpopular phones good Dacs at least

Yeah but they did buy a phone manufactuer Though not that great of one that has experiance designing and Putting cameras in phones.

Feel like this makes it less of a need to switch being big. though would be nice to have 1 flagship phone for this option.

Um excuse me there was that PSP Phone thingy lol Xperia Play maybe? idk im just messing around.
