Most of my time in the forum is in TN&R, Off Topic, or just NSFW status updates. I know Off Topic posts don’t count. I thought Community reputation is when mods don’t issue a warning point which I think I almost reached that threshold multiple times already. ?

In a scale 0 to 10 how much fun would you consider the work so far? @iamdarkyoshi & @Morgan MLGman Did it change any thing in the way you used to interact with the forum on your personal use of it?

I would say being a moderator brings different challenges, there are fun things to do, helping people in different ways. What sucks though is when you have to moderate and issue warnings.

 

Some might think we enjoy it, and to be honest we do when it's stuff like spam bots or obvious troll accounts, but when we have to issue warnings to member that only had a bad day, and simply lost patience, that isn't fun to do. We're all humans, and we DO understand the frustration that some might feel when interacting with others, but rules are rules, reporting something is always better than replying and exposing yourself to a warning.

Well, to be fair it kind of did, but not in a negative way - now in my day-to-day interactions a vast majority of users (especially those who don't know me from the forum) will see me as a Mod first, so sometimes I have to be a bit more careful with what, or how I post things and what I write/do But that's more than understandable considering my actions could affect the entire moderation team as I also kind of represent our team with my behavior. But besides that, nothing has changed I'm sure @iamdarkyoshi feels the same way, or at least similar

In general, work is rarely fun but I can wholeheartedly say that the Mod team is awesome!

Very value input for me! I really appreciate y'all taking the time to tell me this stuff, indeed as one would expect carrying the green badge has its weight and responsibility though over all it is a very satisfying experience.

 

I agree deeply with Paul here; eventually every one has a stressful day and sadly may lose the patience... We have seen cases of members that had plenty of friends and were well respect unfortunately getting banned due to pushing the limits on the wrong day and time, by all means it is a shame as it really is a loss yet... a necessary one to keep order and the professional feeling this forum is well known for.

 

I have been really enjoying it here on this almost full year I'm part of, normal social media has never interested me... especially due to Brazil not being exactly a very intellectual place.

 

Thereafter this place has been filling my "socializing" quota more than perfectly, I really feel like I'll be staying for plenty more years to come, I know I still need more polishing on my speeches here and there but I won't lie that being a small part of this group that's LMG isn't something to fantasize about and worthy to improve for.

As for long time members that get ban, it's never because of a one time thing, some have had up to 12 warnings throughout their membership, and when it's a long time member, the permanent suspension always gets approved by senior mods and admins.

 

We give people chances, sometimes a LOT of them, but when it's a behavioral problem, then it's really in the hands of the member, not us. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
