Guys I was wondering: how can I become a staff member on LTT?

Only when we allow it. Also, no offence, but we're not going to suddenly allow a person with under 2000 posts just become a staff member.

Even people with over 5000 posts struggle to get in .

 

Ofc, there are plenty of factors at play which indicates that that the Staff want overall great people and not everybody is perfect.

 

Unless all the mods are secretly bots being controlled by Mortis..... /s

Typically being a community member with the sole goal of becoming a mod is a guarantee to never become a mod.

 

I'm going to guess you're pretty young and don't realize that being a mod is like babysitting a bunch of caffeine-addled 7 year olds with ADHD.

in all seriousness, it's not really a job you want. You do it, until you don't anymore. A one year gig as a full-time/most-time Admin or Moderator will age you more than playing yatzee with your grandparents all afternoon.

There's either a selection made by the current staff, or it's a recruitment drive.

 

These are some of the requirements from the last recruitment drive ;

Ok here is GoodByte's secret sauce on how to become a mod. SHHUuut Don't tell any mods!

1. You need to be of age greater than 13 years old. This is Canada, the forum is in Canada, and so the governmental rules applies.
2. You need to fill in the form 13B yellow on Linus Media Group site. To get this form, you need to fill in 7B Green form. This after the Orange 7B Yellow form, not to be confused with the Orange 7B Yellow form on Yellow paper. The paper of that form is actually Green. And no, its not the 7B Green form mentioned earlier.  The 13B yellow form is to request to be a mod.
3. Never request to be a mod.
4. You need to send a mod, bonus points if its me, at you full expense, a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti reference design or better (backed with multiple reviews. Minus points for using Linus as a source... as it is too easy). The graphics card model changes every now and then without warning.
5. A large water fountain to a mod with installation service, to be place in the front of a mods home (again, bonus points if send to me... hey I don't make the rules...) Larger the water fountain the better.
6. A 8K OLED 32inch wide gamut, with HDR and Nvidia G-Sync support with a programmable 14bit LUT and 12-bit color processor, 1.07 billion color . You can pick the model and brand. Again, this changes without notice. Bonus points if you send it to SansVarnic, but I recommend to send it to me... for complex reasons.

Now, after all this is completed within 1 week. your name will be put into a hat, and burned to ashes with the hat. The remains are put into another hat, and then it gets incinerated. Once done, we collect the left overs and put into another hat.. and if we pick anything but dust... and it happens to be your name that is fully and easily readable by me, you MAY be a mod.

 

It's real easy. we all did this.

Last moderator drive thing-ma-jigg required you to have 3000 posts, be 18+, and something else that I can't remember. You also had to write like a roughly 200 word reason as to why you would be a good mod. Even then they still won't necessarily pick you as a mod, you pretty much have to follow the Community Standards perfectly. I doubt I would ever be picked due to my blunt and/or sass replies.
