Leak video showing AMD Ryzen 5 1400 against a Intel Core i5 7400 and Pentium G4560 Ryzen is 4c/8t @ 3ghz. I5 7400 is 4c/4t at 3.2ghz and Pentium G4560 is 2c/4t running at 3.5ghz.

I noticed Ryzen wasn't being utilized as much as the Intel processors.  I assume that's because of optimization?

Looks good, the frames might be lower than the the i5 but the CPU is at 60%? =0 great for multi-tasking, I really wish there was 1600x benches though

It's an artifact of Hyperthreading/SMT. You can see the G4560 showing lower utilization numbers as well sometimes (for example, the GTA bit.

In practical terms, all CPUs had all cores fully utilized, although it's true that the ones with SMT could in principle take a light, transitory background process load more easily.

But when you see a quad core at 97%, and a quad core with SMT at 68%, that's not a difference in optimization, it's just accounting.

in my world:

ryzen 5  = ryzen 7 ipc - 2 cores

if ryzen 7 at 6 cores beats a whatever intel, ryzen 5 at 6 cores beats that same whatever intel

First of all the G4560 is a beast. I can't believe Intel released that processor for that price. And secondly the R5 1400 performs exactly were I suspected, just under the i5 7400.

Now for me personally I take the i5 simply because where I live the r5 1400 is just a little more expensive than the i5 7400.

sadly its too expensive, and 1400 doesnt have same cache as 1500x 4c/8t this means 1500x can still do somewhat better, anyway the platform cost mobo/ddr4/1400/1500x is too damn high it matches intels prices, but i can buy 2nd hand haswell or skylake for cheaper than new Ryzen 5, i think because they took so long to release ryzen  it doesnt really make sense to buy new amd cpu, its too expensive  and late, i hoped for 100$ 1400, 130ish $ 1500x but not going to happen i guess.

Ryzen 5. I was talking about the guy on Reddit that had a 6 core one, this is only a quad core.
