Go to solution Solved by Spotty,

This is a legacy list. It is no longer being updated.

The new PSU Tier List can be found here:

For 8700K, GTX1080/GTX1080Ti?

Dark Power Pro 11 750W?

G3 Supernova 750W?

Focus Plus Gold 750W?

get the 550W version. And avoid the MSI 1080ti cards. They messed up the VRM wich switches off some PSU.

Alternatives: Bitfenix Whisper M, Straight Power 11 and the mentioned Cougar GX-F.

The Supernova is the loudest of the bunch, Seasonic might have a not that great fan (Motor Noise), be quiet has the best fan but is a bit dated, though still a decent PSU.

None.

All have their Advantages and Disadvantages...

Of those I'd not get the Seasonic because the 550W version only has one cable, that might burn the connector.

I'm not too fond of the Super Flower/EVGA Model, so that not either...

The Dark Power Pro seems to be the best choice as they have two 8pin PCIe on one 12pin Socket, that is fine.

But so are the other three I mentioned...

The Cougar should be the loudest with almost 600rpm in Idle, the Bitfenix (550W!) should be around 500rpm, the Straight Power is at 250rpm I think.

The Whisper M also has two PCIe cables as does the GX-F.

For a GTX1080 that might not matter, for the ti version however I'd use two cables.

The rest is a matter of the price.

The GX-F is the Cheapest, then comes the Bitfenix Whipser M with around 10€ more, for another 5€ or so you can get the Straight Power, the Dark Power P11 is even more expensive than that and IIRC around 130€ or so.

Oh MonkaS

Well he probably is saying that based on value. As I've said before, I do not factor value into this list.

Another Thing you tend to miss:
Holdup Time!
TXm violates those specifications.

GX-F has a huge primary cap with 470µF in my 550W model.

I know you might be wary about the Teapo SC in it. But there are only like 5 more or less important ones in it. The one for -12V I ignore right here.

+12V has three 2200µF ones but also 4 enormous 1000µF/16V Polymer Caps

Primary Bulk Cap is a Nippon Chemicon, KMW Series.

+5VSB is done by Nippon CHemicon (from what I see, two KZE 16V/2200µF, one 50V/220µF KY and one 100µF/50V KY.

Custom for be quiet, as usual.

Has some similaritys with Hydro G -> no Wires inside and +5VSB on main PCB and some other changes (like 4 Rails and so)...

Wait, you trying to rate the tiers?

Sharkoon WPC definitely doesn't deserve to be in Tier 1, maybe tier 5/6
