Go to solution Solved by Spotty,

This is a legacy list. It is no longer being updated.

What's the system? At 300W, and efficiencies of 90% and 92%, that's a 7,24W difference. Assuming it's a 300W system running at full load 3 hours per day, every day, that's still just £8 per year. Might as well save £20 and get the RM650x (or the 550W version for £2 less)

:)

You do realise how microscopic your power bill savings would be unless your computer has 4 Titans, right?

As someone who had to stop mining because I baaaaarely hit the threshold for a "high consumption household" which increases rates threefold, anything I can get is welcome xD

I'm on a CX450M, a 650W Platinum would be the sweet spot for me since there are cheap ones out there (the Rosewill Quark).

Not that I'm going to justify spending on that since I'd rather just not mine for a bit

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

335W at a 92% efficiency is just over 300W.

Do keep in mind that their test system used an overclocked 4960X.

Buy the Focus Plus 550W, it's likely the best value of these.

Would you consider Tier 6 to be dangerous?  I'm looking for the cheapest acceptable PSU to put in a system I'm selling.

It's a no-GPU system territory where the warranty would need to be longer for me to consider the unit. T5 is when I'm generally OK with putting it in any GPU-less system.

It's got a 1060. What's the lowest tier you'd consider is acceptable? I just want something that won't make me feel guilty. I have very little money right now (the PSU purchase is going to be on an Amazon gift card) which is why I'm doing this.

T3,  something like a CX/CXm grey label,  Pure Power 10 or Masterwatt should be fairly cheap...

@STRMfrmXMNyou should probably split the Pure Power 10s, 400+ is the DC-DC platform,  below that is group regulated. EVGA GD is also becoming more available and is based upon the same FSP platform...

Based on this, don't the EVGA B1 units deserve higher than Tier 5?

5-year old review that puts it about on par with the old CX? Value is also noted there, which I don't include here.

Have PSU's changed that much?

Back in that day, a group-regulated unit was a bit more acceptable, I.E. the Corsair CX was the baseline for what was in a lower-end system. Nowadays it doesn't really make sense to buy one most of the time.

Are we talking about better units being sent to reviewers? I'm not sure if this review would have been victim to that.

Is the MasterWatt Lite from Cooler Master any good?

yeah, I know there are better PSUs out there for the money, but in my country there’s the 600W version for a pretty good deal compared do the rest.

Is it reliable? I’m planning to pair it with a Ryzen 5 1600 and a 1050 Ti. Thanks!

When you'll need 600W you'll want a better PSU.

Go for a 400-450W unit.
