Do you guys put your PCs on your desk or below it?

Flight1sim

Mine's on the floor right next to my external hard drive and UPS. If I put it on desk, it would be a bit annoying to access the back because I could only reach the computer on one side. Plus my computer is a bit noisey, my 10000rpm HDD makes a  lot of noise, and the AIO water cooler makes noise as well. The graphics card is one of those gigabyte wind force cards, not very quiet.

hello!

is it me you're looking for?

Fully maxed out early 2017 Dell XPS 15, GTX 1050 4GB, 7700HQ, 1TB nvme SSD, 32GB RAM, 4k display. 97Whr battery :x
Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

-Crapbook

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

On the desk, beside my monitor.
Few reasons why:

- I want to reduce dust build up.

- It has better ventilation.

- It is easier to fiddle with it there.

Old setup was under the desk (large tower).
New setup is a small mATX build, built specifically to look pretty on my desk :p

Used to have it below the desk on the floor. Now have it on top. The dust buildup is way slower now.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I've got mine on a smaller desk next to my main desk, sits about 5cm lower. Build both desks with the 80/20 I had my simracing cockpit build with, the seat I converted to a desk chair :P.

I finally got a desk big enough to fit 2 monitors and a PC case to that's where it is.

Because my PSU is sucking air from the bottom of the case I don't want to place it too low because dust would build up too quickly. Especially with a dog in the house the hair is noticeable on the carpets.

I had mine on the desk, then I got 2 more monitors and built my gf a PC, now there is no room. Her's stays on a shelf down by your feet, mine sits on a shelf unit to my left. It works out since her's isn't much to look at

On Desk for me ..

I built it with a Transparent case so that I look at the beauty of the internal parts all the time, not to hide all that under the table :)

Desk, i've plenty of space.

1. I like to look at it,  it has a side window.

2. Better air flow (My A/C right over my desk)

3. Less dust

4. Easy access to front USB ports and plug/unplug stuff from the back

5. Easy access to inside by removing side panels. No need to crawl on the floor or unplug everything to put it on a table.

On top because there's no airflow underneath my desk and also because of the carpet. I can also admire it's beauty a bit more.

You know how it is, the cow goes "moo", the dog goes "woof" and the gamer goes "The PvP is unbalanced."

My desk is next to a weird bar thing in my house, so my computer sits up on there. A lot of people who come over don't realize it's a computer..

I originally planned to put it on top but I mismeasured both the desk and the define r4 case (got both around the same time). The desk is about 5 inches too short :/

I plan on doing the increasingly popular Ikea counter-top + legs thing which would give me more than enough space. On the floor it just sucks up ALL the dust (thank god for dust filters).
