Who are you voting for and why?

 

I'm voting for Marco Rubio because we need a strong Republican candidate to get us out of the hole obummer got us into.  This country was formed on the Constitution and the Bible and we are straying away from it and it needs to stop!!!

Also, do you mean for the primaries or for the presidential election? Becuase as far as I know, we don't know who will win the nomination yet.

 

But who am I voting for? No one. 

Firstly, becuase I'm not an American citizen, and secondly, because I don't like the idea of voting when there is nothing good to vote for. 

Chosing between the lesser of two evils doesn't seem like good system to me.

I also have some issues with democracy in general, but that's a different debate,

Here's my plan:
If Trump and Hillary are the choices, I will flip a coin. If Trump/Hillary and any other candidate are the choices I will pick the other candidate. If any candidates besides Trump or Hillary are the choices, I will pick Bernie. 

I actually don't agree with Sanders much, but he's historically independent and he talks an awful lot about how to stop corruption and how to kill the NSA. I don't agree with him on the economic aspects of his platform, but the killing the NSA (or attempting to) thing is a Far Cry (Primal!) more attractive than Cruz and Rubios position of giving the NSA more power (what? They pretty much have free reign...).

note my location I hardly follow american politics, I don't even follow my local politics, I dont follow politics, needless to sa...scratch that plenty of misinformed morons vote. If I was in a position to vote for the president I would go though the effort of making it more informed then what I know now... which is trump is an idiot man child who has no place in office

Yea, semi-okay, but he's still one of the lesser of evils. But a socialist who thinks free, free, free for everyone (but no good way of how) + charge, punish and target the rich for being rich has no place running America.

Let's play the hypothetical for a second. I'll even grant you what I would otherwise consider a huge point of contention about taxing the wealthy.

 

Let's say that's ok. And say Bernie gets nominated and wins it against all odds.

 

You really think he'd be able to get ANYTHING done? The guy has so little pull even SJWs can basically interrupt him and hijack his rallies. The guy has no character and everyone would roll over him.

Actually Bernie is slightly ahead in polls currently, but super Tuesday will tell the tale. I really hope Hillary doesn't win because then it will be a Trump vs. Hillary situation. That's a scenario where everyone loses in every way possible. Atleast with Bernie and a Republican congress there will be a president in office that at the very least attempts to combat corruption.

That may be true, idk. But what I do know is that literally everything Hillary has done has ended in an investigation. If Hillary is president nothing will get done in this country because every thing she does will result in a full investigation by all branches of government capable of doing such, especially if it involves money.

Taxing the wealthy isn't the problem. Taxing them more because they make more is the problem.

 

If he wins, it will mean he will obviously have enough pull to do something. But that's what everyone said about Obama too, that nothing would get done because of what others would do to stop him or stand in his way, but that couldn't be further from the truth. And since he has no character, he definitely shouldn't be leading this country.

No, it actually is not a problem. In a perfect world, taxes would be equal across the board since the total amount of resources would be taxed. In reality however, the wealthy actually have the most resources to evade taxes legally and otherwise. I'm sorry wealthy people will have to go from 5 lambos to just 2 or 3 but is either that or brutal tax enforcement when like 90% of them end up in fucking jail for evasion. Also, none of that "I'll establish enterprises and put my money overseas" crap you live in the country you get fucking taxed, no more money extraction operations.

 In a perfect world, there wouldn't be taxes or a need for it. Equal taxes is the right thing to do. But regardless it isn't right, so I ask what gives you or another person the right to take more from someone else because they have more than you? They shouldn't be punished for doing better in this country than other people—that's not how you incentivize people to work hard(er) and do better and it certainly isn't how you build a wealthy country or society.

 

Now evading taxes or getting tax exempts etc? No. They shouldn't be allowed to do that at all and that's not what I'm talking about. And it isn't your money, so of course you don't care if they can't afford to get what they want or how much they want of it with their own money. They earned it fair and square and off their backs, so if they want 100 lambos and six yachts, that's their right and they shouldn't lose their hard earn money because some socialist thought "hey, let's take from them and give to others myself!".

Define equal taxes. Because if you think about it, a flatt rate percentage is unfair because the rich pay more money but get yelled at by the average for paying only the same percentage. In a flat dollar rate tax the rich get yelled at by the average for paying a lower percentage than everyone else.

The rich are people to, and their rights as people must be respected. If you really think about it, you will realize that the only truly fair ways to tax people are a 0% tax or a 100% tax for EVERYONE.

Corruption or buying tax loopholes is another issue entirely and pretty much everyone, the rich included even if they are lying, will publicly agree that it's wrong for politicians to accept money in exchange for votes.
