How often do you admire your setup?

ELLYOT

I built my setup a few months ago and I can't stop staring at it's sheer beauty.

I feel like I'm spending more time looking at my setup rather then actually playing games, which is why I built it in the first place.

Weird or?

Not often. Definitely more than I used to, since I got my nice new case, but normally I don't look into it since there's no lights to assist my looking into the computer. It still looks nice, cables are managed, but I don't admire it that often.

I used to be quite active here.

Lately, barely at all. I've perhaps only logged 3 hours or so of computer time over the last three weeks.
Gotta love 38 hours of university classes a week...

When I was done building my system I felt the same.
Now I can't look at it anymore, cause now I strive for perfection and I'm not happy as it looks right now.

Not too much. Or does looking at the dust build-up count?

Depends - can you still your hardware? If not it doesn't count.

I mean. It's kept in an Antec Sonata III without its side panel on.

Usually, rarely.

But when I do a good deep clean I can't help but stare at it starting up, the fans reeving that first second or two, and the LEDs inside blinking on.. Mhmmmmmm gives me a cyber-ection ;)

A decent amount. Far more now than before I watercooled, as my PC went from a jumbled mess of colors to something that looked quite nice in the matter of a few weeks.

Nice to know that I'm not a weirdo then.

Thankfully I bought a case with a clear side panel, otherwise I would most likely be opening up the case every time I turn my computer on to see the system in all it's glory for a good while, which could be quite time consuming.

sadly i can't look directly into my case without standing up, since it's on the left side of my desk and won't fit anywhere else :(

anyway, i still take the time to look at it each and every time i walk past it :D

I get back after a long trip, I had been missing it for ages.

Before I turn it on...

I look at it.

I slowly take off the side panel...

It quietly squeaks quietly as the panel slides off...

I look at all the curves.... in the wire management.

Slowly moving my eyes from component to component....

Admiring every little detail.

But something seems off...

Then I realize...

There used to be two...

My roommate stole my f*cking GPU.

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

I'm always checking that shit out, probably not as many hours as I game but if you count hours spent working on it then it might be slightly closer.
