Posted January 16, 2016 The only problem I've ever had with Windows 7 is it asking me if I want to change my color scheme, in the middle of a game. Usually at the worst possible moment. Yeah, Windows Vista had that problem too. I'm glad that isn't in 8 and above.
Posted January 16, 2016 Yeah, Windows Vista had that problem too. I'm glad that isn't in 8 and above. I just wish clicking "never ask me this again" actually meant "never ask me this again". For some reason that means "ask my the next time I run this program" Ketchup is better than mustard. GUI is better than Command Line Interface. Posted January 16, 2016 ok For a more relevant title change it to "Only upcoming and newer processors are supported on windows 10". This does not just affect Intel based machines either. According to the blog post my Terry Myerson, Windows 10 will be the only supported Windows platform for Kaby Lake (Intel’s next gen 14 nm processors), Snapdragon 820 (Qualcomm), and Carrizo (AMD).Going forward, as new silicon generations are introduced, they will require the latest Windows platform at that time for support. This enables us to focus on deep integration between Windows and the silicon, while maintaining maximum reliability and compatibility with previous generations of platform and silicon. For example, Windows 10 will be the only supported Windows platform on Intel’s upcoming “Kaby Lake” silicon, Qualcomm’s upcoming “8996” silicon, and AMD’s upcoming “Bristol Ridge” silicon. After July 2017, computers on the supported list that are still running Windows 7 will still get security updates, but any updates specific to that platform will not be released if it risks the reliability of other Windows 7 or 8.1 platforms. Posted January 16, 2016 Hmm I feel like there is something sinister lurking behind windows push to give everyone a "free" upgrade more and more......either way it doesn't really affect me, I have haswell and will continue to watch windows 10 play out for a few more months before deciding my next move. Hopefully less BS will spew forth from microsoft, but I'm not very hopeful. Though for all we know this is another BS article so I will keep an open mind still. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/ Tier Breakdown (My understanding)--1 Godly, 2 Great, 3 Good, 4 Average, 5 Meh, 6 Bad, 7 Awful
 Posted January 16, 2016 Microsoft can come pry my 4770K and Win7 install CDs from my cold dead hands. If you want me to upgrade why don't you try not forcing me? I can't think of anything good that has come by force. At this point its a little creepy. Posted January 16, 2016 i think MS is finally manning up. Sometimes, people need a kick in their asses, seeing that there is still critical systems in the public transport and medical sector that runs Win XP or earlier. These systems are highly insecure and MS HAVE to support these clients, albeit on a "low priority". So i think MS is trying to avoid having to deal with obsoleted products a decade after they were made obsolete in the first place -> again. Oh yeah, you have no idea what kind of stuff Advertisement Bill boards are running. Pentiums,1Gb RAm, Windows 2000 or XP. Ridiculous. Honestly people need the kicking in the back. Posted January 16, 2016 Unless they lock it, it will work, there just might not be any driver for things like usb. well we dont know what the world of CPUs will be in 2-3 years. What if we have stacked processors and shit that didnt even have a place in the corner of our mind back when Windows 7 was invented. I'm assuming this is Microsoft's way of saying: Might work, if it doesnt, we warned you.
