if you checked your Windows Updates recently (around 2 days) you might've noticed KB3087040 is failing to install
the KB in question is rather important if you use Edge or IE browsers with Adobe Flash content: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3087040

this is a 1st for Windows 10 and I have no doubt this is continue - it's not the 1st time MS released a KB without properly checking it
forcing Windows Update to be always active was the dumbest decision MS could ever made regarding this widows component

Thus is why you use Windows 7 or 8. Like I have said many times before. Windows 10 is a heaping pile of steaming garbage.

oh hmm glad im slowly moving all my systems to linux and haveing virtual machines with windows or a single beafy machine wqiht windows and stream from it.... moved my dad to linux and he loves how fast it is compared to what i had him on a windows 7 machine which was slow as all hell for no reason that i could tell.

I agree that it's bad that the update is failing, but I fail to see what this has to do with Microsoft not allowing you to postpone updates. The issue would still be present, and cause no fewer problems (not that it simply existing but not working is causing any actual problems at all), if updates would be optional, except that there would be people who would elect not to download the working updates either, which makes their OS less secure.

I do get why people don't like updates being compulsory, but the only time it actually comes in useful is when there is an update that is actively damaging, in which case MS will just pull the update before you have chance to find out that it shouldn't be installed and prevent it. Do you ever actually opt out of important updates?

Oh noooooooooo! An update failed, let's switch to fucking Linux cause IE can't be updated. Stop bitching people, it's not the first time an update fails, nor will it be the last time. Windows 7 had issues as well, a quick google search gives you a few examples.
