Because I want to get into it. And experiment with making slugs that have various rifle rounds mixed in woth various shot.

Rifle Rounds? ...be VERY careful... Too much pyrotechnic composition makes each round a Destructive Device.

 

if you're talking about rifle projectiles, they'll tumble as soon as they leave the barrel, even if sabotted, 100% of the time.

That's fine. I just want to see if 6.5 Grendel will kick 5.56's teeth out when sent down range as part of a slug, or acting as shot.

Today I learned something. Titanium shotgun slugs. Them fuckers can be fired multiple times and suffer no more than some surface level scratches.

Sig update.

 

Several months ago, 6 months or more, I bought a replacement ID tag for my P226 MK25 as the one that came with it tor and fell off.

The one I bought was from a company called Carolina Laser Works and the tag cost $10+ shipping.

The new one was laser etched onto an aluminum foil like material vs the paper one that came on the pistol.

The new tag is ever so slightly larger than the original and, depending on how you place it, would hang just a tiny bit over onto the path of either the picatinny rail or the slide rail (I chose a little overhang onto the slide rail).

I was concerned about the slight overhang would cause something to snag on the tag an the tag would start to peel off but I wanted to put it through some rounds and cleanings before I passed judgement.

After somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 rounds and 10ish cleanings the tag shows no signs of peeling away or the etching fading.

As of right now I am pleased with the new tag and would be willing to tell people to check out the company if they need a new ID tag for their Sig (they make tags for other firearms as well)

 

I also bought a new recoil spring for the Sig.

I bought the 226 used and had no idea how many rounds had been shot through it and while the mfg date put it at just 2 years old at the time I bought it, the wear on the pistol made it seem like it had a healthy amount of rounds put through it.

The Sig has been 100% reliable but having shot upwards of 2,000 rounds through it my self I figured it likely was getting time for a new recoil spring.

Wow, that new recoil spring is noticeably stiffer than the old one and the new one is prolly 1/8th of an inch longer.

I just got the new recoil spring today so I have not been able to see if there is any change in reliability or feel while shooting but seeing as the new spring is longer and stiffer it was likely due for a new spring.

I got some new custom grips for my 1911!

I kind of like the pocket clip, but I doubt I could get used to it.  My primary issue is that it only permits you to grip the gun on one side to pull from your pocket (and then only with your thumb).

It does take some getting used to, but I actually clip it to my waist band.  So far neither my parents or my uncle have been able to tell I'm carrying.

Well after some recent mental changes im selling all my guns...Um...DOes anyone know how to sell guns i dont technically own? Like they are mine, i was given them, but i was given them when i was 12 and before obamas gun singover thing

Obama did nothing, depending on your state, your options are plenty. Local shop may take them on consignment or otherwise, any friends, advertise classifieds, etc.
 

I won't ask what mental changes you've had, but if you've been diagnosed with a mental illness, then I applaud you for recognizing you shouldn't be in possession. If you think you might overcome and they have sentimental value, consider having a reliable/accountable friend hold on to them until you are ready.

Iowa, i haven't kept up with the laws of late. And Yeah, I'm Giving my dad the engraved handgun and my first rifle to hold on till i'm better.

Pretty sure you're good in Iowa. Anything in-state can be from one person to another, if buyer is out-of-state, go through a dealer.

The gun owners association I belong to sometimes has users selling their guns through the forum.  If you decide to sell to an individual yourself, what many of them do is ask for Conceal Carry permit or handgun purchase permit.  It's not a legal requirement, it just avoids any potential legal pitfalls.
