Went out yesterday, but it started raining on us.

But my buddy recently got a Beretta CX4 Storm, and we were comparing it to my Hi-Point 995TS.  Was quite surprising how it turned out.  Essentially, the CX4 isn't worth three times the price (imo obviously), it's still a very nice carbine regardless though.  I did like it.

God I want one for my XDM. I know they serve no purpose for a preparedness/carry weapon, but I want it none-the-less.

Mainly because the grooves in it look better for grip on the slide. Mainly so I can get a raw steel one and have it cerakoted with a camo pattern.

I'm finally planning to pull the trigger (no pun intended) on buying a nice IWB holster.  I've resisted thus far, because I prefer to keep my shirt tucked in (it's hard to conceal an IWB holster with your shirt tucked in).  However, I finally decided it's time to try it out.  I've been looking at Alien Gear and their Cloak series.  I'll post pics once I actually get it.

Depends on what you plan to carry it. I'd recommend getting a good belt with your holster. Something with a metal or plastic insert for increased rigidity just because.

Personally I don't like IWB, because I find it uncomfortable. Then again I'm a fat guy so your mileage may vary.

I do have a good belt already.  Nice thick 1.5" leather belt.

I'm not exactly slim, so I'm not sure how it's going to work for me, but it's an experiment.  I'm willing to give it a try once.

From the reading I've been doing, the important part in a carry belt if you want to avoid your gun flopping around (which annoys the hell out of me) is the belt having an insert made of either metal or some sort of rigid plastic.

Although I don't think that's as much of an issue with IWB carry since you have the pants restraining the gun more so than simple OWB carrying.

Recently my daily use belt broke. I don't carry at work because they forbid it (damned Kommiefornian companies), but I decided to replace it with this

I hope it's a bit more durable than the shit belts I've been getting at Walmart.

I used to use a Crossbreed supertuck for my G19, but have moved to AIWB instead of the 4 o'clock carry.

I found 4 o'clock IWB carry to be less than ideal, I didnt large footprint sweat guard as it got hot and sticky, plus hybrid design holsters like the crossbreed and aliengear cloak tuck generally dont have the best retention because the two different materials wear and age differently. I found that I had to tighten mine up every few months or so.

I will echo what @Trik'Stari is saying about a good belt that's really made for carrying the weight of a gun. My EDC belt is a Beltman double bullhide with a kydex re-enforcement in between the layers. Another great option that's a little less expensive is Hanks belts.

Because that's a .450 Bushmaster with a fat fucker of a hand guard. The sight doesn't flip up or fold down when put on the other way.

Huh, well then, I learn something new.

(I still want an AR-15 in .300 blackout, but I also want one in .50 Beowulf)

Go for the .300 first. Much cheaper.

I actually chose the .450 Bushmaster because it's quite a bit cheaper than .458 SOCOM or .50 Beowulf. It's also a better performer at longer ranges than the other two.

Have you accepted Hogue Monogrips into your life? Got one one my 1911, my AR, and the fore-grip on my Remington 870.

Hogue garbage is what was on my first AR. I replaced it with the standard A2, use an A1 on my M&P15, and an Indignant Arms grip on my full custom Grendel.

Garbage? How so?

Honestly I've never used a plastic grip that was both comfortable and effective at allowing me to maintain grip.

Rubber coating that feels sticky and disgusting after a few seconds, doesn't permit easy repositioning, especially with gloves, and doesn't give as much control as any other grip I've used.

I detest Hogue products.

I've never experienced this with any Hogue grips, especially the sticky part.

Also, why are you repositioning your primary hand on the grip of the gun? I find that plastic grips slide about in my hand and I'm force to reposition constantly, or at least re-tighten my grip, whereas with the hogue my hand just stays where it is.

You do you, I'm just asking about your experience is all.

Admittedly, I do not wear gloves when shooting. Primarily because it's not good practice for every day life. Most of us do not wear gloves all day every day, and in any situation where I am likely to need to use my gun I am more than likely not going to have time to put on shooting gloves to do so.

Trying to maintain the same grip whilst firing a semi automatic at a decent rate isn't exactly going to work.
