Hey guys, 

I was hoping maybe you guys could give me some insight and help me out.

So my girlfriend and I have been dating for around 7 months, and things started out well. We were both very into each other, we got along well, everything was smooth. Yet, this was only short lived. Over the past few months, my girlfriend has been so short tempered with me, she insults me constantly and is always on a short fuse. I'm not doing anything different, she's just very mad at me all the time. She calls me annoying and clingy, yet when I don't talk to her she says I don't care. I'm afraid to stand up for myself because every time I do she doesn't even listen and threatens to break up with me. Then she gets mad cause I don't stand up for myself. I don't want to break up with her because I do love her and I love all the memories we've made (I'm a sentimental person). I'd do anything for her, but maybe that's the problem. I'm nothing but the nicest guy to her. I don't know what to do. Please help.

Time to move on. Find someone who you enjoy being with. Don't listen to that "Well I'm already here, and it can get better, I might as well stick it out..." voice in your head. You can and will find better.

Well I haven't been in a relationship before but it seems like to me that something is upsetting her in real life. Work, school, family issues etc. She could be taking it out on you. She would need support and it seems like that you need to stand up and take the risk. Other than that, she could have no interest in you and breaking up with her could be a way to resolve this issue if she continues and nothing works. Sorry pal

I didn't listen to my friends when they told me to leave my girlfriend when I was in a similar situation in college. Now all I do is look back and regret the three years I wasted trying to fix her and hoping she would stop abusing me. Just leave her, it's gonna suck really bad for the first few months, but you're only going to delay the inevitable.

Ugh thank you everyone for the help, I really appreciate it. She's just been so controlling... When things are good (which isn't often), they're great, but when things are bad, they're awful. Oh yeah, and did I mention she calls other boys hot/attractive, even when I'm in her presence?
