Windows 10 will include junkware - the cost of free

What do you think of having extra software which you will most likely not use, be a trial or freemium app installed with Windows 10, if the OS remains free for consumers?

I would happily pay to not have crap installed on my PC when I do a "clean" install.

The main reason why I do reinstalls is to get rid of all the junk, but now the OS itself will come with a bunch of junk. Like I said in the "HTC might include ads in Sense" thread, having ads in the core OS is one of the worst things I have ever heard, and Candy Crush will be part of the core OS if it gets bundled.

 

Hahahha the tech community is one of the whinnest I've ever seen. It's one game that can be uninstalled. OH THE SKY IS FALLING! It's a free upgrade. In the past lots of apps have been bundled with the OS. Remember pinball? I could name a bunch of other games to.

The bed thing is that its very easily removed.

Would you be happy with me shoving a 2 feet dildo up your butt? By the way, I am going to shove it up you even if you say no, because you have no saying in this.

Please don't whine about it either. It's both a free dildo and you are allowed to remove it afterwards!

From what we know.. all editions of Windows 10 (my guess: Enterprise excluded). Microsoft announced no Bing edition. Only Home, Pro, Enterprise, Academic, Mobile, Mobile Enterprise, and IoT

Does IoT have a standard UI and act like a normal Windows OS, or is it some sort of development OS?

Not even Microsoft's own first party Modern apps are part of the core OS and you think a 3rd-party app will. You're just saying random things so you can have something to be angry about.

That is one of the first-party Windows 8 apps, Weather. You can remove it no problem. The only ones you can't are Camera, Photos, OneDrive, Store and PC Settings. That's it. Add Xbox to that list on Windows 10. But one of the points of Windows is that everything but absolutely essential applications can be removed, and Metro apps are no different.

Load it with bloatware, watch how many people jump to pirating the OS even if they can get it for free Microsoft.

Can't people so go into the uninstaller and delete it or go to the files and delete it? Doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Can't people so go into the uninstaller and delete it or go to the files and delete it? Doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

It's even easier than that, you just right-click on it and select "Uninstall".

It's not so much the bloat that dissapoints, but the team behind the bloat. King is the same company that actively patent trolls over the word "saga" - a term that's existed far longer than the game they've ripped off to make Candy Crush. I don't support plagurizing bullies.

 

If it's easy to uninstall, it will be the first to go. If not, MS gets a finger to the face while I make a custom install that has all the junk stripped out via 3rd party software.

IoT Core edition has no desktop, no start menu. All you see is a configuration page, and the tools to communicate with it, to upload it a Universal App to run at startup. The coded App that you will do or get, will do what you want, is the idea. It is free for ever. You can get it from Microsoft website.

Not even Microsoft's own first party Modern apps are part of the core OS and you think a 3rd-party app will. You're just saying random things so you can have something to be angry about.

When I say core OS I mean everything that is included when doing a clean install, not just things that are completely unremovable. If you want to argue semantics then fine, ignore the word "core". I don't want crap in the OS then.

Very bad news if you ask me. If I do a clean install I want it to actually be clean, not have a bunch of third party crap on it as well. All the crap that gets preloaded on Android phones is terrible, and now Microsoft is moving in the same direction.

Yes, I have given canonical shit for bundling a bunch of Amazon crapware with Ubuntu. I was not a fan of that either. They have gotten a ton of crap from a lot of users for it as well.

 

Yes it is like the other bundled games like Pinball, but with some enormous differences. Pinball was a game Microsoft owned and bundled just for fun. Candy Crush is developed by an infamous company and the reason it is bundled in Windows is to push ads and make people pay microtransactions in it. I am really against the idea that my OS comes filled with crap like ads and micro transaction options.

 

I think it's far better to let users decide if they want to install something or not, instead of shoving it down their throats and then have them uninstall it if they don't want it.

Based on the picture above, the Raspberry pi 2 is not powerful enough.

If Intel x86 embedded system board gets faster, and better speced, then maybe you can use that one and run Windows 10 Home/Pro.

I don't know if the mobile version will be made available to us. I doubt it.

 In the history of Windows, how many games have been bundled in? I'll wait while you realize how stupid you all sound at whining that a game or app is bundled. This is status quo for Windows, the difference now is that MS is opening up the playground to other software makers. 

 

MS is subsidizing the upfront cost by getting software makers to PAY THEM to have their apps. Apps that can be removed within seconds, which is more than you can say for Windows versions of past where uninstalling some apps that were baked in wasn't as easy. 

 

Would I rather pay 10-30 dollars for a Windows 10 upgrade that and no bundled apps? No. Because my time in removing those apps is not worth pissing away money for. Maybe to you, you'd rather spend money and not deal with the few minutes of cleaning up an OS that I swear most of you do anyways when you reinstall Windows or any OS. 
 

 

Furthermore, comparing having a DILDO SHOVED UP YOUR ASS forcibly to MS including Candy Crush with the OS? Really? REALLY? One is a statutory rape offence and the other is MS dictating what goes into the software they own and you licensed to use.

I've heard countless of people say OS X is better than Windows because it doesn't come with a bunch of bloatware. My response has always been "just do a clean install" but from now on I will just have to nod and agree that OS X is superior in that regard.

If you have ever complained about Android or computers from for example Dell having bloatware on them, but are okay with this then you are a massive hypocrite.

Yes, I have given canonical shit for bundling a bunch of Amazon crapware with Ubuntu. I was not a fan of that either. They have gotten a ton of crap from a lot of users for it as well.

 

Yes it is like the other bundled games like Pinball, but with some enormous differences. Pinball was a game Microsoft owned and bundled just for fun. Candy Crush is developed by an infamous company and the reason it is bundled in Windows is to push ads and make people pay microtransactions in it. I am really against the idea that my OS comes filled with crap like ads and micro transaction options.

 

I think it's far better to let users decide if they want to install something or not, instead of shoving it down their throats and then have them uninstall it if they don't want it.

if they stick to a somewhat familiar setup process in windows 8 where you can disable tracking and those kind of features, then you can have it off in first use, also spotlight (aka ads) are off by default from what they have said in build, the feature is mostly being tauted to people that want to discover new stuff easily

 

while i do agree on you about bundling unwanted crap, something that i should have specified in my last post, this is better that what windows used to be with bundled software in the OS where everything was fully embedded and would cause a shit ton of problem if they were somehow removed, you can't denied there where moments that people complained you can't remove IE, which it looks like is getting addressed on 10, since at least in the current build you can still remove edge, also that's a huge difference on why i'm not mad at this, you can remove them effortless, where before you can't and that applied to third party programs too, like you said, the best way to get a clean system was to reinstall it, if back in the day, it was like its getting now doing reinstalls would be unnecessary, because it would be faster to just remove everything from the OS itself rather that nuke the drive and install it again, obviously where not there yet, and probably we wont until ms merges win32 and winRT into one, or winRT matures to be as powerful as win32 without any of its drawbacks

 

of course all i'm saying depends on MS keeping the uninstall button at hand on everything like it is now, i hope it does, otherwise where boned
