It was spontaneous, I was mopping the floors when it happened. 

 

To be honest I have very little experience with this kind of thing but I'd personally not be happy with that at all. That's a pretty bad violation of your personal space / person. I'd be wary of someone who would do that (personally, as I say, I would not be pleased, I'd definitely take it further)...but that's me.

Adoption is a thing...

 

Adoption is a thing but it is no simple matter here in Ireland. Chances of adopting an Irish child are slim and none (fall of the catholic chruch and social for single mothers means no more babies for adoption). That means any couple (straight or gay) has to go outside the country. While t is difficult enough to find a child in another country, it is made even harder when trying to bring the child back to Ireland. The law isn't setup to handle these sorts of issues.

I'm bisexual. The only problem is, I live in Indiana. This ridiculous "Religious Freedom" law was just passed and is set to come into effect in June or July. (It basically lets store owners refuse to give service to people who are doing something that their religion doesn't approve of. You know, like same-sex couples. Ugh.)

 

But at least my parents don't care about my sexuality. That's one bit of consolation.

I'm more mad about the state constitution amendment specifically further banning gay marriage. We just have to be that last redneck state 20 years form now on wikipedia that just was absolute last to repeal the ban until the supreme court does it, like them sodomy laws.

Are you sure she meant she was disappointed in you or did she just say 'disappointed'?

 

Also, unless something's stated explicitly there's a huge margin of error for interpretation, especially if you expectations have already been primed to see things a certain way.

This thread amuses me as for me it is just strange how people can talk a lot about their sexuality

 

I am heterosexual, but I reckon chasing the knowledge is a bigger motivation for me rather then my sexuality, so "I toned it down" (you get me hopefully) and it is just really weird.

But then again, I want to jumpstart my career

 

So for me, sexuality is just a personal thing.

It sounds like she's might be in denial about it. It's probably a shock to her. Took her by surprise. :0/

 

It doesn't sound like a very considered reaction at least. She probably needs a bit more time to process it. Hopefully she'll be able to do that and not just pretend you haven't told her. :0/
