Guessing that's a T series? Which one exactly? Been tempted to go for either an X220 or a T420 since I'm about needing an upgrade

T420. Honestly, I'd sooner recommend a T430 these days (especially since the classic 7-row keyboard can be modded into the T430).

Anyone have a keyboard with cherry mx speed switches? Was looking at the k95 platnium for my main driver.

I had a look at the modding and it seemed like it could be a bit of a pain to get done, knowing my luck I'd break something. The main attraction to the T over the X would be a DGPU but they're getting rarer and more expensive (I can pick up a 1200p panel for my Dell for watching things on a bigger screen but it's a bit pricey), plus a bit better battery life.

I need a creative way to come out to my parents. I was thinking using an arduino and pretending to make a YouTube video on teaching my parents on how to use it. It would be using an rgb display of sorts? Once I teach them how to hook the thing up, it could display a rainbow flag and flag the words "I'm bisexual" across the screen. What do you think?

Will the Asus F1A75-M that I bought on eBay from China for $55 USD work great?  Who knows.  But my Gigabyte A75-D3H failed over two years ago, baking it in the oven did get it POSTing again but a DIMM slot and the Ethernet port died in the process, so I think it's best to replace it.  Adventures in eBay. :o

Trust me: I don't want to stand with a  camera for two hour watching my friend fingerblastong his girlfriend. There are many, many, many other places I would rather be. And many of them are preferable to the room next door. 

 

Edit: pro tip: when your friends around don't spend the entire night fucking your gf/bf. It leaves for a poor taste in mouth, including the uninvolved parties.
