No they arent military. Its run by the military but isnt like a full part. Its really to encourage youth to join the military but unlike Britain (those lucky bastards) we dont take actual military training.

The Royal Canadian Sea Cadets is more like Boy Scouts.  ...If you were a Boy Scout who wanted to nothing but stand.  That's all they do, they stand.  'Standing Scouts' if you will.

My mother found out about my stast of books that are contrary to the Christian faith. She just asked me why am I reading The God Delusion and The Moral Landscape and other books. All I said it was nothing and that I'm curious. Oops. ?

She's not mad about it as far as I can say. She probably thinks I'm in a phase. It's Sunday right now here and I'll probably drive for them to Church. It's a good thing she didn't saw the other books because it will break her heart knowing that her son is not only gay but also an atheist. Besides, Christianity is all about flattering Jesus or else he'll fling me to hell with the American Founding Fathers. Glory! ??✝️

I have never understood Christians and other religious other people, I have been brought up in a house with no religion.  

 

I do go to a Catholic High School and also went to a Catholic Primary School, but very quickly I worked out what they were teaching about religion was garbage (and some of the teachers deliberately taught it to show how bull shit it was :P)

Scout (rover variant) here  I know some people in cadets and they agree with you. 

 

BTW I found this out by accident one meeting when we were just talking about policies and random crap and beating the shit out of each other with beanbags

Scouting (in Canada at least) for now has a ban on gay leaders and youth joining or being apart of it... I'm not that surprised but at the same time i'm surprised we haven't gotten more progressive considering were Canada

 

Also another reason why for now I don't plan on coming out as bi anytime soon cause I love what we do waaaay too much
