 "They have every right to do this and any other developer and publisher have as well," began PewDiePie, who has over 35 million subscribers to his channel. "There'd be no let's play without the game to play. And we YouTubers are humble to this fact.

 

"But what they are missing out on completely is the free exposure and publicity that they get from YouTubers. What better way to sell and market a game, than from watching someone else that you like playing it and enjoying themselves?

 

"If I played a Nintendo game on my channel, most likely most of the views and ad revenue would come from the fact that my viewers are subscribed to me. Not necessarily because they want to watch a Nintendo game in particular."

 

"When there's just so many games out there to play. Nintendo games just went to the bottom of that list. Even if more publishers starts implementing this idea of sharing revenue, then fine, there's always going to be plenty of games out there."

I thought Nintendo allowed for anyone to post footage without any issues.

 

But this is just stupid. I guess they're trying to compensate for poor Wii U sales probably.

 

Jokes aside, this is just wrong. Its free advertising, Nintendo needs to restructure and fire all of their higher ups for more sensible people. I don't want Nintendo's next game being Mario: The Pizza maker.

I don't get it why companies stand against free marketing.

 

Pew die pie is a bigger force in the industry than some game publications whether we want to admit it or not.

Agreed. The just turned down major free publicity and marketing. It would be very stupid to do so. Unless Nintendo made a shitty game and they do not want it reviewed but that doesn't sound like Nintendo and when have they ever made a shitty game?

Anyways, even if I despise this PewDiePie for his annoying "humor" and his near fanatical followers, Nintendo would be a serious coof if they went through with this. Free publicity is awesome, especially when it is positive and it is almost entirely positive when it comes to Nintendo. Youtube "Let's Play!" is what made me buy not one but TWO Wiis and a couple of their games like Twilight Princess, Smash Bros and Animal Crossing.

 

But if Nintendo wants to kill itself, I guess there is nothing we can do to stop them. :(

I agree that Nintendo shouldn't do this, but PewDiePie is a sellout so I no longer trust anything in his videos.

I kinda agree with their standpoint that entire lets plays of a game are actually hurt sales. I see this in my own family. I have a steam library of 200+ games and shared with my brother and sisters. I keep insisting they play the walking dead season 1 and 2 and other games for their great storytelling value. But they don't want to because they already saw Pewdiepie play the entire games. They already know the entire story so there is no point for them to play the game themselves anymore.

They already know the entire story so there is no point for them to play the game themselves anymore.

 

I honestly doubt most of the viewers of "Let's Play" videos are like that though.

One looked like a similar site to e621.net and then... Honestly I didn't know they had that on xhamster... Might not go back to that site to be safe. Shame, they occasionally had some decent vids on... Uh... girly guys/ crossdressing and such

I don't know what any of those sites are so I can't say whether or not both or just xhamster frequently uploads child porn. However it says "teen" in the address. Either he went searching for it, failed (which is still wrong) or he went searching for it and found it, and then watched it. Underage teenagers still fall under child pornography, which he is clearly guilty of.

seen the teen tag on plenty of 18 and up videos. It's a buzz word. The one with teen in the url looked like it was listing off tags. I'm on my phone so it was hard to tell. But like e621.net the tags are submitted by users. And that site has furry art on there so sometimes the accuracy is off. Not trying to justify it but... I know fully well what the tag is. The only way for him to have "teen" in the address is to have loaded the tag itself, thus meaning he attempted to or actually watched it. And I'm not saying he submitted any porn or the tags (how does having furry art/videos mean the tag search and address is inaccurate?). I'm saying he intentionally went out of his way to either look at porn that resembled his, for the lack of a better word, "lust" for kids or he tried to find teenage porn. Both of which are disgusting and prove he's harboring sexual attraction for kids/underage teens.

 

I don't think we, nor Nintendo, should pay a pedophile any of our attention. I think the discussion of his character isn't entirely off topic but yea, you're right. The video exist for those who want to see it. End of. ;)
