Apple makes the most reliable laptop

79wjd

Price to reliability ratio still aint that good.

because laptops in general are so expensive that even a $500 should be reliable enough

Finally my Santa hat doesn't look out of place

Except Lexus doesn't make you go to Lexus only gas stations when you need to get fuel. Unlike Apple requiring Apple friendly software, that isn't used as universally as Windows software.

In which way is windows software more universal than Apple software? You can only use windows software on windows devices just like you can only use Mac software on macs.

Not only that, but Apple uses a lot of open standards for their systems, and programs. Unlike Windows that uses proprietary APIs , even more so than many others. Namely the Direct X libraries for audio and 3D.

As a user of all three major OS lines, Windows can run on a huge variety of hardware. Mac OS is limited to a small set unless you roll your own specialized drivers for other hardware.

No one ever said they weren't reliable, our gripes lie elsewhere within apple products.

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.

Price to reliability ratio still aint that good.

that depends on what you want. in terms of other laptops on the market with similar specs I would say they are by far the best price to reliability.

More businesses, schools and institutions use Windows software. That's what I meant.

Yeah, just recently I've started using my Macbook Pro for school, rather than the laptops we're given, and it's pretty solid. I have bad habits for thumping and ever throwing my schoolbag around, but my Macbook takes it like a champ. I have had to put some padding on the bottom of my bag as I was getting dints in the aluminium from rocks and such, but apart from that it's been so reliable. Still runs smoothly as well after being used quite heavily for near 6 years now.
Fun story actually, I must have dropped it as some point as one of the corners was seriously bent, so much so that the battery cover didn't fit properly. What did I do? Grab a hammer, whack it until it went back into the right shape. Gotta love that aluminium.

Just don't bang it back and forth too much since aluminum will snap :P

when I read foxnews I automatically assumed it's bullshit. No but seriously its not that much news though, but reliability isn't the key factor when buying a laptop.

Yeah I love buying stuff that breaks really quickly....

Reliability for some is THE most important factor in buying a laptop, especially if its for work purposes. Why do you think Thinkpads and stuff have been heavily used in business

Or that the army use Panasonic Toughbooks, Its not for their performance and good looks but reliability

exactly, Even in schools you'll never see a classroom full of cheap laptops. The cheapest you'll see are Asus transformers.

Yeah, often the reason you find low spec models is because they spent their money buying Lenovo or HP Professional ranges, and can only afford the celeron version

Oh I have no problem accepting they're the most reliable ones and that OSX is objectively better for most consumers. I just wish you didn't have to pay so much for that privilege. And yes I know that similarly spec'ed laptops from other vendors cost about the same but they come in a much wider variety of more reasonably configured specs that help drive down prices.
