NO need to sleep it for a faster boot. my ssds boot from cold easy enough. But If I'm leaving for an errand for an hour or so I'll just sleep it.

I shut my desktops down when not in use.

 

I'm also not lazy so boot up isn't a problem.

mine is on during the day and off during the night. Unfortunately AMD's drivers have a glitch that stops the video card from waking up after a sleep so I have to just leave my computer "locked". My laptop is just put to sleep when not using it tho.

The only time my desktop get switched off is because I broke something(drives or bluescreen). MBP is the same. Sleep all day every day. It's now just being able to swipe the board and everything turns on

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

Desktop gets shut down. It's got a boot SSD too, so I don't have to wait.

 

Laptop usually gets put to sleep. Occasionally I'll shut it down.

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.

Desktop: i5-4670k - 8gb 1600MHz - MSI 7850

Laptop: i7-4810QM - GTX 870m - 8gb RAM

haha yeah same here. its like a 5 or 6 second boot. so nice. there is no point in leaving it on. even if you leave the room and lock it you mind as well just turn it off. as long as you dont have anything up of course.

According to Event Viewer -> Diagnostics-Performance, my average boot duration is 20 secs and shutdown duration 5,5 secs on Windows 7... I never use sleep/hibernate :)

I shut my PC down at night, and put it to sleep at any other time because of faster wake times

My boot time is 2.5 minutes.... I'm am soo looking forward to my full rig upgrade this March

Unless i'm folding, my PC will not generate basically any heat, or noise and consumes not much power, so leaving it on is fine.  I don't use sleep because I can boot up reasonably quickly

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.

I've been mining so I leave it on, but when I'm not mining I turn it off at night and sleep during the day between usage.

Just restarted my computer for the first time in 13 days, the last time it was off or more than 5 minutes was a few days after Christmas. So my computer has ran basically non stop for 6 weeks.

Leave it on.  How else am I supposed to be on the forum all the time?

Shut down overnight unless I'm folding or downloading a ton of stuff.

 

Leave it on/turn off when AFK for 2 hours or more.

Shut down to save power. Don't see the point of doing those other things as I have a SSD. :D
