Sleep vs Shut Down

I put my computer to sleep during the day if I don't expect to use it again for at least an hour (if I'm popping out etc), and it's always off overnight.

i put my computer in hibernate i set my sleep key to link to hibernate option. i like hibernate because computer is basically off but when you turn back on things you left open are still open so yea.

I always shutdown my computer when I'm done using it, the only reason I would leave it on is either to complete a download or leave it on because I need to remote into it soon.

I don't like leaving my PC on for too long if I'm not using it. I will however leave it on if I'm downloading something.
