I Windows over Linux because Linux is lacking in software support

  • Windows 8.1 Pro /w StartisBack+ - I use it over Windows 7, Because the OS is more streamlined, better task manager, hardware accelerated desktop and supports mounting ISO's natively and I can get around the Modern UI mess with the StartisBack+, and I don't use Windows 10 because I need an OS  that I know is stable.

Main PC: CPU: i7-4770k RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX Blu SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB HDD: 1TB WD Blue GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 770 2GB PSU: Corsair CX600M Case: Bitfenix Shinobi OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit

Dual boot Win7 and Ubuntu on this machine Three laptops in the house two on Vista one on Win8, son's games machine (not on 'net) Win XP.  Two tablets one on iOS7 one on Kitkat (Android 4.4)

and a phone on some iOS.  So lots of O/Ses but basically Windows .

Maybe there should be a poll response of  'multiple'.

Windows 8.1 Update.

  1. I need Windows for gaming
  2. I like latest version of them and I don't exactly use any old incompatible softwares.
  3. I got it cheap when Microsoft promo with the Win7 devices
  4. Apparently, I can upgrade to genuine copy of Win8 using cheaper Upgrade Pack from non-activated Windows 7 (I don't think this can be done anymore) for my desktop
  5. It comes with my Surface Pro 3.
  6. I guess I'm just a Microsoft fanboy now....

As long as you use intel and a gigabyte motherboard you can pretty much run osx. Buy a small ssd, do the stuff http://www.tonymacx86.comsays you  to do and you are good to go.  (Don't forget to turn vt-d and unplug every internal and external drive both give huge buttpain).

Yosemite so good.

My MBP is my daily driver and love it. Only using Windows (8.1) since I need it for some Uni work, plus some games occasionally.

Windows 7, because windows vista can suck it, and windows 8 can shove it. I'll see how windows 10 pans out, and maybe buy that.

Downloading programs from CNet is not a good idea, as they will commonly include unwanted, and sometimes dangerous bloatware... The more you know.

Win8 (upgraded to 8.1 Pro through last years update)

Got it for free. On a disc, USB, DropBox.

Like it becasue the Metro bit is optional. Fast, light, all that good stuff.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. The True Path of the Feathered One. ~ Dimboble-dubabob III
