Folks, maybe the point of this thread is not to debate

the finer points of life, death, responsibility, compassion,

empathy and so on, but instead to provide a space for

people who wish to mourn the deceased.

If your urge for such debate is really too strong to resist,

I recommend either making a new thread or moving to the PM

I have zero sympathy for those who commit suicide, regardless of their past achievements. Unless someone is in chronic pain where day to day living is hell, no sympathy at all. There is too little info to pass judgement, but if this was just another suicide with bullshit reasons, my respect for Robin Williams is gone.

people dont seem to understand how bad clinical depression actually can be for people. Its not like what normal people experience at all and it does not have to be logical. clinical depression is a mental disorder and is not easily overcome. RIP Robin Williams

I'm glad to see some posts gone with less fighting. The simple truth is, a life was lost and people are sad. While I have my own feelings over those who take their lives, my sympathy goes to his wife and kids. I know the heartbreak from that and seeing people in that state of distress is hard to bare. It's been several years since I lost the man who raised me and I still have memories of my mum in tears over losing him. That's something you can't shake away no matter how hard you wish it did. His wife and kids are going to need to stay strong to get through this.

 

That..that's all I really have left to say.
