how much anime have you watched?

Mao_Zedong

well yes, i can easily see that about the source material being true, but i do anime as a standalone thing, i only judge the anime for the anime itself, some might see it as shallow, some might not even comprehend it, but i view it differently.

I do the same man! And the anime I like most are generally the ones that are done off of their own original material! I mean they might be based on something but the story it covers is it own. That way they are not having to cram stuff in and the story is written with the medium in mind.

I see... I usually encourage people to look into the source material if they have the time... It's available in English somwhere in the internet...

I just think it's unfair to judge something with only one aspect of it... But still, to each his own...

I think its a bit unreasonable because anime is made to advertise the other source material if it has any not the other way around. Also anime in mind mind should be able to stand alone otherwise its not really worth watching in my opinion. why would i watch something that just fan service to people who already love that IP? this doesnt happen that often because as i said before they trying to get new people.

I can safely confirm I'm nearing 2000 hours.... If not already over the number...

Detective Conan....

Heaven Society

Let's give this thread some love.

my not correct list, as i know it is missing a lot of things i have seen i just can never remember the names of them, says I'm about at 1166+ hours  so I'm picking the "1351-2000" option and guessing I'm really closer to 1500-2000

Define 'other stuff'

I could likely name stuff you would like..

Have you watched samurai champloo? You would like it I think.

I also think you might like Ghost in the Shell (there is 2 movies and a 2 season TV series.. they technically are not on the same time line.. or what ever.. they aren't really related other then they use the same source material... I like the series better then the movies)

It's all I watch, I dedicated a lot of time in my gap year as well, I've rewatched so many anime I lost count, I'm easily over 2000 hours. Most of those hours were during my school days though, since the teachers didn't mind me I even sometimes watched anime at school, especially in the classes I did well in since those teachers just left me be as I was their top performer.

There's 2 original movies, 2 series and a movie based in the SAC universe as well a a few manga novels, and a new ova movie series which is kinda like a prequel to section 9 (GITS Arise). Oh and of course then there is the original 3 manga.

or the kinda that watch an anime aor two and just realy come to party in their room or go to the rave while possibly checking out the vendor room. <-- a waste of a convention if you ask me.

I can nearly guarantee that I have between movies, OVA's, series, etc. It became too many long ago that I never really kept track. I think it comes from the time once the next series or season is now a new anime when in the past this wasnt the case I mean just watching what currently available for initial D would be ~10 anime right there.

As for yo unot finding good stuff to watch I can likely help with that. Also I dont know when you started watching but have watched older stuff that has laid the ground work for what is today's anime. Below is a link to a picture that is a decent representation of anime you should check out.

Roughly over 2000 hours. Around 1996 hours in Animelist, though I have a few I am too ashamed of putting in my list.

For example Yosuga no Sora, which scored over 4 STARS/5 and yeah I watched it.... I PICKED IT FROM THE POPULAR LIST AND HOW DID IT SCORE SO HIGH?

Someone must have trolled me.

Does the Pokémon series count as anime? If so then I've watched about 100 30 minute episodes, which is 50 hours.

Otherwise, probably about 4 hours, if Spirited Away is an anime which I'm pretty sure it is. I loved that film.

@MyInnerFred maybe you can answer this; where do you go to watch all of these anime shows?

Pokemon is indeed considered an anime, also, it's closer to 24 minutes than 30 minutes. Ads don't count.

I use to go to various stream sites.

Crunchyroll provides really good service for streaming anime. You can get in touch with @TopWargamer to join his anime streaming plex server if you want.

I basically download everything I want to watch in 720p or 1080p onto my PC now-a-days. My streaming days are basically over.

How can anime bear to watch steamed anime.. the video quality just isn't there, the encoding process removes quite a lot of it and it's very noticeable when you compare streaming and downloaded media...
