I've started to slowly accumulate parts for my desktop because I got absolutely fed up of the interactions between Intel's drivers and Nvidia's drivers on my laptop (frequent crashes in Adobe products and various games).

This run was 32GB of 3200MHz LPX, a Z690I AORUS Ultra, and a 12600KF. Then in a few more months when I've hopefully recovered a little bit financially I'll be getting the SM580, EK AIO, 750W SuperNOVA GM, some cables, and another cheapo SSD to abuse for ShadowPlay/OBS. Then even further down the line from that I'll be getting some kind of video card to replace my poor half-height 1050Ti. 🤣

Bonus pic of the ghetto setup, which is currently extra ghetto while I wait for the mounting hardware to show up on Monday:

The first adaptive refresh monitor I've ever owned or even used, a Dell S2522HG; 1080P 240hz G-SYNC and FreeSync capable, and pairs nicely with my 3060 Ti where I can pretty much constantly hit the 200fps engine limit in Doom 2016. The Windows desktop at 240hz is somewhat surreal, and now I want a higher DPI mouse.

Just picked up a Core i5 7600k, ASUS Z270i ITX motherboard, 250GB WD Black NVME drive & 16gb of Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz DDR4 ram for $430 AUD ($320 USD) will go well in my spare Ncase M1, just need a cooler, PSU & some fans, and I will have a working NAS again. I already have this motherboard which cost me almost this much when I bought it brand new 4 or 5 years ago!

It showed up today! Now to just get a cooler & power supply for it.

I cannot believe how much more lively it makes a computer feel, I've missed that. I had a 21" Mag CRT back in the day, 1600x1200 @ 85hz was so good, and this is like experiencing that feeling again.

I still miss that display a little, but I don't miss lifting it's 50+lb heft. I'll take my current monitor, haha.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It seems to be a fairly standard iPhone 4. Most likely it escaped on the production line where someone "forgot" to flash the production OS and "accidentally" dropped it on the floor.

Grabbed one of those used for $50 shipped, not a stellar deal given it's high power on hours (a LOT) but there's only 49 power cycles on it so it was on and stayed on. Crystaldiskinfo isn't giving me a decimal value for writes though, suggestions?

That wasn't a production model, it was an EVT (Engineering Validation Testing). The person who forgot it was in charge of the baseband section, or cellular capability, and so it needed to be out in the field to test.
