$32 off with my staff discount wasn't a bad deal. Remote controlled, so I can torment the pup with it.

We used to have the 45 ton version of those here underground. They were wild. 35 mph (55 kmh) underground fully loaded. They'd tip from time to time. The breakaway hitch worked every time though.

None of the plastic on them or the handrails lasted long. Drop box issues, brake lines liked to blow. Glad we got rid of them. (picture isn't from out mine)

@SimplyChunk Don't cheap out on bits if you use them on a regular basis. For the exotics these cheap are fine as you need them like once in a lifetime. For common like PH00 buy high quality bits. It is better for the screw head.

All their tools come with a three year warranty so aslong as you're not absolutely hacking at stuff with it it's usually good.  I got quite a few kits and tools from lidl (parkside is their house brand really)  It's top quality stuff really for the price.  I guess what you're paying for with an ifixit kit is the lifetime warranty.  However for a hobbyist like myself, something that has a 3 year warranty would probably last me a lifetime anyways

Fuck that 55 km/h in one of those. It's pretty crazy one of the largest CAT dump trucks can do something like 65 km/h.

Those don't sound like your typical Volvo..

Our Cat 30 tons top out at around 27km. The Volvos were wild. Get going fast loaded and you could get the back end loose next to a truck that was pulled over letting you by. Going almost full speed you could hit their bed with yours.
Sandvik is the new way to go with automation being easier on their end. They’re only doing about 45kms before we locked out 9th gear on them.

I used to operate a Cat 769C in a limestone quarry.
I used to slide and bounce 'em down the mountain everyday loaded with 40 tons of rock.

Easy to drive but can be hard to operate if you get my drift on that.
I'm just glad I had quit before anything happened to me and I did have a few close calls along the way.

Never did that in the literal sense myself but yes, I had a few that got beyond "Real" enough.

Anyway, this is what I picked up last week - It's doing good so far.

I just splurged on myself and ordered some amazon 🤪 (lmfao i alr feel like ive gone bankrupt but im paranoid so). But fr, one of my friends' bdays is tomorrow and i had forgot to get gifts 😅 so i needed last minute gifts. I also decided that while i was at it, i would get some stuff i was planning on ordering now so i do it in one go. To note, the vamp teeth and manga are the gifts.

So i got 2 tapestrys bc im obsesed w filling every wall in my room w random bull sh*t i like and think is cool. Then got the HDMI ARC adapter (& got a good deal bc its used, which i've begun to realize is awsome) bc i got a new LG TV recently, and it only has digital audio out's (not even a 3.5 headphone out! wtf) and i only have analog speakers, and i got them for free so to me it doesnt rlly make sense to get a new system. But when i tried a TOSLINK to Analog adapter i got from walmart, i couldn't control the volume which is obv a huge problem. So i looked around and ARC seems to be the only way to control volume w the tv remote, and it's pretty cheap so 🤷‍♂️.344425648_amazonordersbcioverspend.thumb.png.3736b76057a6dfe10bddeb99e705eb32.png

Really makes you wonder why Samsung will be charging ~$2,000 for the 55" Odyssey Ark.  Granted, I'm still gonna probably buy one--because the market has gone to shit and nobody makes anything I actually want.  But still.  Jesus tapdancing Christ.
