Bought a sous vide machine

I only have salmon on hand atm

Wet brined salmon for 15 minutes, sealed in ziplock bag with rosemary and butter

Sous vide for 25 min at 43c

Beautiful texture, like cold smoked salmon, very delicate

 

gonna try lamb rack next, but i'll sear that when i do

Nice now you can easily Pasteurize Eggs, and eat em RAW.

That has to be the busiest bezel-face I've ever seen.  Completely useless in all but full-light conditions.  +100 on nostalgia factors though.  It's like how a Rolex dive watch is nowhere near as effective or useful as a dive computer--but hey, memories of how it used to be done.

I sadly can't activate it due to it not supporting VoLTE (which T-Mobile requires); the first iPhone to support this was the iPhone 6.

Snagged a RX5500 and an EVGA GTX 980 FTW ACX 2.0 for about $300 shipped w/tax. I'll sell the 980 onto my friend maybe for their PC to replace the GTX 950 and swap the 5500 into the HTPC because it fits better and is more efficient at media than the GTX 960 that's in there now. Have to wait till Monday when the seller is back to find out about combined or discounted shipping or not.

I randomly saw an Instagram AD for this today... the rotary attachment caught my eye. I wonder how it compares to the $350 laser cutters on Amazon. Congrats on the new toy

$1000 with shipping, air assist tool, heat shields, rotisserie turner (cylinder shapes) and leg risers. 

 

So far my first engrave is a cheeseburger and cut is a heart with love engraving.

man, its so nice and convenient! Just push it out the way when you dont need it and pull it to you when you do. The mount i got also came with a monitor stand, which I currently use for my Green Power Ranger helmet  but 10/10 recommend.

and a 3050 to pair with my 2060Super purely for my AI workloads. 16GB of VRAM certainly opens up more options to run things locally instead of on google colab. And can also now start training my own models \o/. technically i could train smaller ones on my single GPU, but that would take a LOT of time and means i couldn't use it for anything else while it works (like games).

Had to accompany the girlfriend to the doctors this morning, so I got to go to my fave bottle shop in my region that stocks some great local beers. Couldn't help myself & had to buy beers from my mates' brewery.

Then she insisted on going to get a massage. So I figured since I worked all Easter & with my dad in hospital I'd buy LEGO to help take my mind off things, $32 off with my staff discount wasn't a bad deal. Remote controlled, so I can torment the pup with it.

i got it mainly so i could fit it in without interfering with my front panel USB cables.

 

and i have 2 fans blowing directly down against the "top" (where the power connector is) of both cards, so neither should get too hot
