Well I don't have pics but took the trip up to Micro Center today and got some parts for a new PC for my dad. They're overkill but considering he is using this HP prebuilt from 2013 with an AMD APU (A8-5500, slow as hell), I wanted to give him something that's pretty powerful.

  • i7-10700K
  • MSI Z490A-Pro
  • 2x Cooler Master Sickleflow 120mm fans (a CM Hyper 212 EVO I had laying around and the stock fan has the bearings going out).
  • Windows 10 Home 64bit (Installed with a ISO from a USB thumb drive I created, I'll never go back to disc again!)
  • 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus.

Parts I already had.

  • 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-3200 CL16
  • EVGA P2 850W (I plan on switching it out with something like a 500W Corsair unit, as I may use the 850W for another build if I want to tinker around more)
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
  • NZXT Phantom 530 with some case fans I've had (couple 200mm and 140mm in the rear).

Got these games for dirt cheap to play and add to my collection. The disks are impeccable, no scratches at all. The covers are a bit discolored, probably from the sun but I'll probably end up printing some new ones.

Phanteks PCIe 6-pin extension came. USPS lied - said it would come tomorrow.

After I finish torturing myself playing my modification of 4-Anchor in NSMBW, I'll put in my GTX 650 Ti BOOST, DDU drivers, reinstall them (with GTX 692 name still), and then install, configure, and run F@H - monitoring temps carefully on the 692 of course.

EDIT:
4-Anchor is impossible. Too many Mega Goombas - the game crashed.

I'm leaving it that way.

I wish.

One 6900xt and 5950x. 🤣

I didn't want an 850 watt and the only other one I could find was this when I ordered.

So I had gotten a Logitech G920 quite sometime ago, and ended up returning it as I couldn't make it work on any PC in the house. Logitech software would recognize it to some degree, but no game would as any sort of controller. Gave up and decided it was bad. I think it's been at least a year, if not more and got another one, and this one works perfect, so must have just gotten a bad one the first time.

Definitely need to track down at a stand of some sort. I don't really have room for a dedicated chair for it (my office is already getting cramped).

My son definitely enjoys it:

Seems Monday’s purchase of a Ryzen 9 5950X dislocated the 3900X in my main rig, so today I decided to dislocate the Ryzen 3600 in my All AMD rig and drop the 3900X into it, just needed something to keep it...under control!
