@s_k I think you haven't seen my stupid stero setup.

IMG_8518.thumb.JPG.59250d3258c2d28570b549573234e2bd.JPG

BTW the Phillps DVD player is dead 😞

The inputs are RCA thought a 3 port switch inputted into the tascam 112b which has a 3way splitter to output for the recording of the technics M85 mk2, altec lansing speakers and the sony boom box which those speakers remounted to a tool pegboard.

Muwahaha, that's all over the place. I wonder how on earth you'd end up with this contraption. That said, that 112B, yes please!

Ok long story.

This all started when the lead sound engineer was giving me some old gear when our church was being renovated.

He gave me:

  1. tascam 112b(tape drive not working so thats why its a AMP/distributor)
  2. Technics M85 mk2 as the main tape deck.
  3. phillps dvd player.
  4. a bunch of XLR's
  5. some mics(sm58 clones and a RE11)

The altec lansing speaker was given to me by my brother for my birthday after I set this up.

boom box is probably the newest thing I have gotten as I got that from a neighbor

Some things are from my dads desk setup.

Sony BT TR/RV

Radioshack RCA switch.

BTW I havent paid a single cent for this setup and have gotten alot of tapes for free from.

A)side of the road

B) free from garage sales

Gimme!
I once 'traded up' an audio rig. Started with pretty much nothing that I got for free, and then traded it up against more and more until I ended with a NAD amplifier, B&W DM110 speakers, an Akai GX-65 cassette deck, some Philips CD Player and a JVC L-A21 record player. It honestly was a pretty nice sounding rig for literally zero money.  May be something for you to try :D. That said, it did help that I am very deeply invested in the audio world, so there's always people trying to get rid of stuff or wanting stuff around me. Made it a pretty quick process.

Definitely a good laptop. Surprised me in a few areas after using it for a few days, slightly exceeding my expectations (ady knew a lot about it before).

Will post a written review, but not in LTT forum. I have moved all my reviews to my personal blog, so I will post there instead. https://genexisx.blogspot.com/

One more question: Why are you using FLAC on an iphone? Seems like a waste of space if you ask me, especially if you are using Bluetooth headphones.

Used Sony A350 with the 18-70 and 55-200 kit lenses... not that I needed one, but the whole lot came at 60% of the price of the multi-type battery charger that's convenient since I've got nearly all types it supports in use (used to have one but it got stolen at some point), so I pretty much bought it for that and the rest provides for a nice nostalgia moment since the A300 (same body and features, just a lower resolution sensor) was my first DSLR. And the live view system was cool and done right.

Funnily enough tho, basically all the savings are coming from the lens. The A7R2 body isn't actually that much bigger than the GX80 when put in a case (similar width, slightly taller, the grip size doesn't matter in cube/rectangular case) but oh well, maybe one day someone will release a small, lightweight, extra zoomy APS-C lens for E-mount 😛

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Don't know, never had a canon - but the 70D is 5 a whole years newer, so probably way better. When the A300/350 came out in 2008 there was no system that could focus fast in live view, they all had to lift the mirror so no access to autofocus sensor, on-sensor AF wasn't a thing yet so all there was was the crappy contrast-detect AF that would take 5 seconds to focus. Sony left the mirror down and added essentially a camera filming the viewfinder and displaying that on the screen, so no AF issues and shooting in either mode was just the same in this regard, plus the benefit of having exposure preview.

When the A300/350 came out in 2008 there was no system that could focus fast in live view, they all had to lift the mirror so no access to autofocus sensor, on-sensor AF wasn't a thing yet so all there was was the crappy contrast-detect AF that would take 5 seconds to focus. Sony left the mirror down and added essentially a camera filming the viewfinder and displaying that on the screen, so no AF issues and shooting in either mode was just the same.

Used to have the coolest Sony camera. Sold it years ago to pay for my workstation, I don't remember too much about it but the thing I loved most was its LCD viewfinder and laser autofocus. Didn't take the best photos and was mirrored but the lens itself could be angled up and down 45 degrees or so in either direction. Took Microdrive CF cards, didn't work well with solid state media.
