YouPorn put out feelers today to see if any Dota 2, League of Legends or Hearthstone eSports teams are interested in being sponsored by the free, video-sharing porn site.

 

"Do we have any competitive LoL, DOTA2, or HeartStone [sic] players following us? What do you think about YouPorn sponsoring a team?" the official YouPorn Twitter account (NSFW) tweeted.

 

Dozens of YouPorn's Twitter followers responded with encouragement ("DO IT!"), disapproval ("hell no") and disappointment that the offer didn't extend to Blizzard Entertainment's real-time strategy game, StarCraft 2 ("No SC2? WTf...").

 

Porn finally meets e-sports. Well okay then...

I certainly didn't see this coming, but hey. If YouPorn wants to sponsor a team, that's cool I guess... I don't exactly see why they want to get into e-sports since they are well, a porn website, but whatever. They did get some positive responses on Twitter, so this may actually be a thing, although nothing is set in stone yet.

I don't see the big deal. Youporn is already known by tons of people. And this will bring more money into the E-sports scene (It might be sticky and smell funny. But it's still money)

To be honest why is porn so looked down on, its just humans mating...on camera with toys....toys are for children right....?

That's a subjective opinion. Quite a few people find those types of games enjoyable to play and fun to watch. There's a reason why DOTA 2 and League of Legends are some of the most popular games in the world.

Don't really know about Hearthstone though, although I have played it and it is pretty darn fun to play.

I guess the sponsorship could technically happen, but Gosu seems to be right about whether they could actually put the sponsor's name anywhere on the uniform, i.e. they can't. There are other types of sponsorship deals, but I don't think YouPorn could get a good enough deal out of this to be worthwhile.

Though, the publicity generated simply from the existence of an E-sports team sponsored by a porn site could be worth the cost.
