That's a shame. Because it's not whitelisted, or is there something else?

Had nothing to lose by trying so I ran Fah, it didn't detect the card.

i'm guessing it's just not whitelisted yet. pretty curious what these can do PPD wise though.

sadly the only A7xx card available here is the asrock model. and that is over 380 euros for an A750????

Folding at home have said that the way it handles high precision maths is not currently accurate enough to reliably run simulations.

It could be some time, it even never, when the cards gains the ability to fold

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I'm not sure about the 1650 Super but the 1660Ti is really efficient, and with an undervolt gets 1M PPD @65W (equalling someone's Quadro for power per watt last Folding month).@BondiBluewas talking about their 30W GT 1030 making 100k PPD, this is 10x that at just twice the power draw!

Ha ha, yeah the 1030 isn't the most efficient, but at 30W it doesn't matter too much. The 1660 Ti is definitely a pretty good folding card though.

I can't speak towards under-volting as I'm on Linux and that's a Windows thing but WRT the relative efficiency of a 1660ti I can say that the 1660ti, unlike other 20-series GPUs which get 20-26kPPD/W at peak efficiency, only gets around 16kPPD/W similar to my 1070ti on similar workloads. The 1000-series (Pascal) can only be power-limited and not clock-limited so it's not an exact apples to apples comparison but a 1070Ti power-limited to 90W (88W actual) gets slightly higher PPD as a 1660ti clock-limited to it's Base Clock (1500MHz) drawing 82W average.

My 1660ti may have lost the Silicon Lottery and be a bad performer as it is only a sample size of one but my 2070 supers, of which I have 5, show only about a +/-5-10% variation in peak efficiency.

Interesting to know. I think some of it is because i) it's a 1070Ti, which has a couple more TFLOPS of compute than the normal 1070 and F@h points increase exponentially with performance and ii) The Turing cards have a lot of undervolting headroom. I can do +180 on core clock locked at the minimum voltage.

On my cards I can get 1M PPD @ 65-75W on the 1660Ti or 90-110W to get 1M PPD on the 1070, or if we're going flat out I can get 1.3-1.4MPPD consistently at 85-95W on the 1660Ti or 140-150W on the 1070, so it was a no brainer to turn it off. If we get into the 90+ watt range my 2060 will get 1.5x the PPD of the 1070 so no point leaving the old one running.

I would guess they're one of the people running many cards. There's a few people that do that. Personally, when I have everything running I have 2 1080s, a 2070, a 3070 and 2 quadro M4000s folding.

I did just get a killer deal on a pair of R9 390s working bundled with 2 broken R9 furys. The 390s will add about 1.2m ppd. and if I can get the furys running they'll be about another 1.2m with the pair. There's more power efficient cards yes, but the deal was just too good.

Most of my house heat in winter comes from computers.

What kind of PPD are you getting with those m4000? I found a couple online for dirt cheap

Define cheap. They're not very efficient cards for Folding@home, and they put off a fair amount of heat. My M4000 has been getting just under 300K PPD lately, which isn't great considering the power draw. The P4000 is quite a bit better, and seems to draw less power at the same time.

How do you manage to get that many??? I barely get 200K towards the group in one Work Unit, makes me feel inferior with my 3050 with no case fans lol

BUY CASE FANS
but yeah I just run my 2 computers and get around 4.4M PPD ... between the two computers I have 15 case fans, 3 gpus fans, 2 AIOs and 1 aircooler, plus the oscillating fan in my room (I live in the southern hemisphere so things are starting to heat up here)

I think it may be getting towards the time when I retire Foldatron...

After folding month in going break her down clean her out fully and inspect the board, see if there's anyone obvious that is causing the weird intermittent issues I seem to have with her

It's an old x99 rig.

Had issues rebooting, sometimes will stop responding for random reasons, will throw memory errors.

It's been reseated many times with the same issues, different memory has been used since.

Everything it gets rebooted I have to reset the cmos

Dumb suggestion. You've probably already tried it though. x99 is old enough that if the cmos battery hasn't been changed I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was flat.

You mentioned memory errors, have you tried another set of RAM?

I remember a story Linus told about the Langley house editing rigs (X79 or x99 can't remember which) were super temperamental with their RAM and asking G.Skill if they would seed like 10K of RAM because they knew it would work without issues.

I have, although this ram has been running without issue since it was built

Ifixit says your PSU may be failing if it's random. Didn't you have a PSU issue with one of your systems?

this is a relatively new EVGA 1000w PSU, but I have a spare 850w EVGA unit so can test if required

I'd love to, but I have no fan headers for my poor dell prebuilt machine. I only have a CPU Fan header. Someone recommended I get a Fan Controller, but I don't know where that's meant to plug into since I don't have any additional slots...

Keep in mind that I am sometimes wrong, so please correct me if you believe this is the case!

Run fans at 100% speed? Molex to fan header.
