how?

GloriousGamer321

That's a bit like asking how people make any program. It's just coding and scripts.  They monitor stock on various sites and have payment methods set up that they can process orders with.

To AMD and Nvidia, it's not really a problem as they're selling out as fast as they can make them. Though that said, the majority of cards sold aren't directly from AMD or Nvidia, they're sold to retailers, who then sell it to the consumer, so it's their responsibility in a way for most of it. But again, there's not a huge incentive to actually fix the "issue" as they're getting a pretty good deal out of it. Other than doing things mostly as a gesture than actually stopping scalpers, they don't really care who they sell to.

Because NVIDIA and AMD do not care about anything but making money. They are literally printing money at this point due to scalpers.

why is amd or nvidia not doing anything to confront this problem?

Why would they?

All they care about is selling as many cards as possible, and from their perspective there are certain advantages to selling 100 cards to a single person compared to selling 100 cards to 100 different people.

The question is how?

They cannot directly control the sales, it's all controlled by board manufacturer / reseller and online shops.

even if they do, the scalpers will always get ahead.

Why is that a problem they need to fix?  They already made their money on the product.   The only problem is they have is they can't make enough products to meet demand.  Scalpers only affect poor people, and who cares about them.

so it doesn't affect you?

what you call "poor people" don't want to buy the product for more than what it is

Scalpers have been around for millennia, as long as exchanging things of value has existed, why? The answer is simple, they make money!

Why haven’t we fixed it yet? Well as long as there are people who will buy inflated prices then scalpers will exist. It’s not a problem that can easily be fixed top down, you have to start at the bottom, the people actually buying the items.

What does "more than what it is" mean? You know the GPU is already marked up well above what it's "worth" in cost to manufacture even at the sacred MSRP, right?

All the GPU manufacturers care about is selling as many cards as possible for as great a profit as possible.

because they don't care about customer satisfaction, which will at some point lead to a drop in sales scalpers will have no reason to buy cards, and then prices will go back down because no one is buying them and over and over and over again

Their customers (the people buying the cards) seem quite happy.

Nope, they'll still be bought by people who want them.

They will since there's going to be too much demand.

Prices have been steadily increasing for a reason, more cards are being bought now than ever.

You're not the target market anymore.

Except theres a lot of people buying graphics cards, even at the inflated prices, most people have no patience to avoid buying overpriced GPU's and wait until cards are more available.

And I doubt prices will go down back to normal, as in RTX 3000 series launch MSRP normal, plenty of people are still buying them and that gives Nvidia and AMD reason to keep prices high.

You keep waiting, prices will come down "soon"

Maybe when the RTX 5000 series comes out you can buy a 3000 series GPU at MSRP.

Are you serious?

They get money by selling chips to board partners/miners/etc or selling the cards first hand to whoever buys them

This.

Why would any company choose to go back to selling their product for $500 if they have proof that they will sell out their inventory at $1000?

I've always wondered how they make bots or bypass the Captcha. Sometimes you can get stuck in them for a while even as a human.
