It has? I've never noticed it till you mentioned it lol.

Yup, it's weird having the founders badge and not the silver one as well.

A storm rolled by last night causing almost a brown out. So I shut all my units down for the night just to be safe. Went to work pretty stressed due irl stuff and came home late straight out exhausted. So I had forgotten about my units even being turned off.

Went to start them up and walked away while I took care of my dogs. Came back and turned on my monitor for my 4x3060 system and F@H was folding again. With 5% done into 4 different WU... I feel obligated to finish those WUs now. 🤣

Thankfully no casualties from the power flickering. Just glad no storms passed by while Folding was happening.

to sum it up on faq page and forum page on there.
love of god please make sure you can cool this to a usable level

also be warn this will tax you psu and battery back up.

look at my spec.( take hdd stuff out)  i am using 800 watts .

with the cpu right near thermal drop to lower speed.

it runs double precision work normal.

If I were to dive into this, my cpu has a AIO with 2 fans on it, this one to be exact. Nothing crazy, but it is a few years old now and It's probably down to have a new spread of thermal paste.
PSU is a 1150 Plat Seasonic. Only about a year old and only recently started getting heavy draw usage.
As for Battery Back up, I have yet to use one. I'm honestly not sure what is "good" as they look all the same to me. What's your experience with them and maybe suggestions?

Wooters, I am F@H newbie as well. Just 24K work units, 4.3 Billion points, 339th place out of all folding, and 11th place on this folding team... but I kind of like fully failed to formally sign up for events until this time. So its my fault and I just fold away in the background the whole time while also trying to play pied pieper to my acquaintances getting them into the hobby (sport?) with video's on reddit, blog posts, work stories on my companies web site, Facebook posts and Instagram posts. Oh and randomly goading @GOTSpectrumand @TVwazherebecuse they are willing easy targets : )
But at least I am now a newbie!image.png.7565b6d0491cf2770dc95c75f70fb37f.png

Intel 10900X and 10850KA. NVIDIA 3090FE and EVGA 3090 K|NGP|N Hydro Copper. 196GB RAM. 2x Corsair AX1200I power supplies, $6K in Corsair Hydro-X Custom cooling all wrapped up in a Phantex Enthoo Elite dedicated to supporting F@H (User ID PEZUI on team LTT! 223518)

I also run a typical APC 1500VA UPS for my server and internet. I actually used it during the event when I had a power outage for 5 hours. Server and networking are on it just for a little safety but it did its job well. Server ran for another 15 min then gracefully shutdown and internet stayed up for another hour.

Yeah ideally I'd have liked to get a much larger capacity unit but it was cost prohibitive at the time and even more so now. I might just make my own battery or accumulator to use with the unit after this one shows its age. It does seem a little involved but the longer running times will be well worth it.

I think my 1650 was feeling sorry for you, when I tried to fire it up last night I didn't realise it threw a "CUDA out of memory" error and shoved the GPU into Failed state.

The badges REALLY confused me due to that very thing, until yesterday when I realised it simply means you pushed a lot of points for the team but took part in less than three events.
