Why 3 EPS12V cables in the 850W & 1000W?

Aris complaining about 100mm distance between SATA connectors again. Dammit Aris, no-one needs 150mm between connectors!

Actually, we've fixed the fan speed and will get Aris a new sample.

Reduced the RPM by 100 across the board.  Only problem is the bridge diode is getting pretty hot when running the PSU at 50°C.  It's a "pass", but I like more margin.  Might have to either beef up the BD or put a bigger heatsink on it.

@jonnyGURU

Is the RMx in the review a noise-improved RMx?

Also, the in cable capacitors are a bit disappointing😭

Bah!

I did fix it.  But GoDaddy keeps reloading back ups of my site every time I call them to tell them its down (which is WAY too often).

Never had issues with your website, but if I see that 40ºC come back I'll know why 😄

While we're at it, why did Aris publish the review ? Since you're lowering the fan speed for the retail version, shouldn't he wait?

Because today's the embargo date.  That's why.  Maybe he'll update the review when he gets the new sample.

Not yet.

In the U.S., I think it'll only be at Best Buy initially.

Taking the hook from these mesh covered cables, do manufacturers also provide cables with individual sleeves for each wire (like customized ones)? Or the only options are the flat cables and this mesh covering them all?

I think I worded it wrong. What I wanted to ask was if cables of this type could come directly from the manufacturer (individual sleeve):

CableMod to Release Pro Series Custom Sleeved PSU Cables

Instead of this (all-cable sleeve):

cable2.jpg

I imagine that the presence of the capacitors and sense wires would get in the way a lot, but in case those weren't there, for some specific reason, would it be possible?

Any idea if the new RMx is better or worse than the 2018 version?  I was expecting a small price increase, but I see the RM1000x 2018 model’s MSRP is $204.99, and 2021 is only $189.99.

That's pretty frikkin cool that you can get those sleeved cables factory direct.

Its not something I need, but if I did it's nice to know the option is there..

Had I bought a Corsair PSU..

My kid will probably get this PC anyways.

Is the option there?  They seem to be out of stock as far I can tell.

It's because the new RMx has the more expensive ML fan in it that the price had to increase.  The "RMx 2018" is still being sold as a "cheaper alternative".

That's got to be a typo.  LOL!

EDIT:  Oh, sorry... The 1000W!  That's because there was no RM1000x (2018).  Only the 650, 750 and 850W were refreshed in 2018.  The RM1000x used the old platform that Corsair engineered that cost too much to build.  😄
