excessive airflow for my config

Intakes

  • 1x 200mm
  • 4x 140mm

Exhaust

  • 1x 140mm
  • 1x 120mm

on the plus side, my CPU never even gets to 70c despite a generous OC and my GPU never goes above 60c

uhhh my case is 10 years old lol

Oh! and my monitors are spread out and far from symmetrical as oppose to the more popular ultra wide screen side by side set up. I wanted to take full advantage of the full motion triple monitor arm.

I have some of when my dad and I first made it long ago (he did all the power tool stuff) but it's changed quite a bit since then. It used to have dual power supplies and the hard drives and gpu have since changed.

but the board yeah is still the same 2009 era board and this is still my main today

Yea and apparently (if your profile is accurate), you're running 2 Voodoo2's in SLI?!?

Props to you for being yet another person I know who runs hardware older than I am; I highly recommend you check out this LTT vid if you haven't already seen it: https://youtu.be/8OtwHV8j-90

P.S. Sorry I had to disable link embedding bc for some reason it displayed the video twice in my comment draft 😞

My temps don't seem to have been affected after switching out from a NZXT Phantom 530 with intake: 1x200mm, 2x120mm, exhaust: 2x200mm & 1x140mm. The graphics card does seem to run cooler now after the swap.

I also have 2x optical drives in the system but I hardly ever use them and waiting for the arrival of a new case that can take a couple more months from now.

Not super unique, but I'm really enjoying my new Dell Precision desktop workstation. Not to mention, Dell actually delivered it over a week earlier than expected.

My system is set apart cause it has an apple m1 chip. xD

currently m1 macbook air (switched from windows cause final cut, dislike macos but dislike premiere, resolve, vegas pro, etc more)

but yeah

in the future will buy an m1x mac mini (when it exists) for my heavy work the base model macbook doesn't handle (haven't had any of those yet, but I see them coming)

I see a lot of people put their computer here

Mine is an m1 macbook air xD

base model

planning to get an m1x mac mini when it exists for heavier video editing

Switched to mac from windows cause most of what I do is either internet browsing, photo editing or video editing and wanted Final Cut cause that magnetic timeline is NOT the same as ripple editing in resolve/premiere/vegas pro (a sad excuse of a NLE btw) and is much faster for MY workflow

The side panel is missing.

It's not actually missing, but I do have it off. I cobbled together my old PSU back in to test if my current one is dying - and it is. So I gotta figure out if I can RMA my Corsair RM1000x 😕

I know I see cracks appearing on the acrylic side panel of my 900D...don't think I can get another one but they're mainly around the screws that fix the acrylic in the panel.

How old was the RM1000x?
