Can someone tell me what kind of adapter I need for this plug?

I live in UK and need an adapter for this plug.

 

I don't think it's US as the sockets on US seem to have 1 big and 1 small prong...these are the same size.

 

What country is it? 

 

I thought it might be China but they use like a 3 way diagonal one.

That's a US plug. Only certain devices/plugs will have one bigger prong and one smaller one. I forget exactly the reason why but generally small stuff like this doesn't have it.

No, that's just one type of plug for locking the plug into the socket. It's not required.

regardless, it's still AC so not like there's polarity

The wider prong is supposed to indicate which side is ground and which side is "hot" for devices that need a ground but don't have a third prong.

Seeing as how the text is Chinese, I'd say the adapter is Chinese. But the plug is compatible with Us/Canada plugs. (it's also wide Voltage input, so can be used without worry)

yup thats a standard north american plug.

what you're thinking of with one larger than the other is also a standard north american plug, that one is for things that are polarized (drills, some radios, exc.) and need the hot on one side whereas this plug you show a pic of can be inserted either way and it won't matter.

It's not north American. It's a type A plug. There are other places in the world that use it also.

I've never, in any context heard of plugs referenced in "type A - N". I work with electricians and have wired up houses and all kinds of electronics for more years than i can remember. 

Plugs/outlets are either called by their proper name NEMA 1-15 in the case of the OP picture or for what you want to call a "type B" is a NEMA 5-15.

Or people call them by the countries they are mostly associated with like a NEMA 5-15 is north america, BS 1363 for England, BS 4573 europe, NZS 3112 for australia and asia. Just my .02 on naming conventions with electricity.

Nema is north American only though, so if you live in the west, it makes sense that you only use nema specs. I don't live in USA so I don't know nema codes.

It supports 230V 50Hz,so it will work with a US-UK adapter.

I need to correct your post as you are half correct, 

The wide blade is common(Neutral), not ground.

There is a big difference between common(Neutral) and ground.

There is no such thing as a "us" plug. There are plugs compatible with certain standards. As stated above, USA uses nema, which is the same as one of the plugs in China. This particular plug is compatible with both areas due to wide voltage input. But with the text being only Chinese, I would guess it was originally from China. If it was US origin, it would have English.

The lack of USA certification codes (and English) mean its not USA. The Chinese characters should be a dead giveaway.

I have never heard about any of those. 

Most people just call the European one for Schuko.

For that particular plug type, it will work at both.

its a hwuei charger so its from china.

china, japan and the us

use the same connector just that china has different HZ (china has 50hz and us and japan has 60hz)

second its a switching power supply and the uk has a 50hz rating at 230v

so its all good
