When looking at x570 boards I've seen these configurations, the best being the first with 28 lanes,

 

  • 1. pcie x16 @x16, 2. pcie x16 @x8, 3. pcie x16 @x4
  • 1. pcie x16 @x16, 2. pcie x16 @x8
  • 1. pcie x16 @x8, 2. pcie x16 @x8
  • 1. pcie x16 @x16

 

As far as understand this board supports: 1. pcie x16 @x16, 2. pcie x16 @x8, 3. pcie x16 @x4

This would be 28 lanes, it supports bifurcation but I don't know it what configuration, if its possible on the top two pcie x16 slots then I could get 7 cards with 4 lanes each at 4.0.

 

I see the zen 2 cpu's supporting up to 24 lanes, do we know how many lanes the new cpu's will support?

 

If its still only 24 lanes, then 6 cards will do I guess 😁
